All went well with my taxes. Once I added my State Return I had significant problems with printing out selected forms. It would add additional forms not selected, the pages would not print correctly. I had worked fine until the State Return was added!

I had a much better experience with this year's (2025 tax year) desktop version of Turbo Tax than last year; the 2024 version was glitchy and generated several errors. The 2025 version experience was much closer to the old disc version experience. The interface is good and guides one clearly through the steps. I still don't understand why the state filing fee can't just be added to the up-front price, rather than having to purchase it before e-filing. Turbo Tax is still less expensive than having someone prepare my taxes, but still not that cheap.

Every year it seems the software gets worse and there's less functionality too help oneself problem solve, understand one's entries and how they tie to forms/worksheets. I guess that's because Intuit/TT wants to upsell their services. The foreign tax credit piece is fraught with errors.

I use Turbox Tax every year. Through the years, it has gotten easier and easier to use. This year I had a couple of errors that I could not fix. I had to use the customer service number to get assistance from Turbo Tax personnel. The lady stayed with me, accessed my computer remotely, and eventually discovered that the problem was an excess Form that needed to be deleted. She then helped me process the Review until there were no errors and I was ready to e-file. Hard work that she did with great patience and a smile! I am not sure, but I think her name was Luna.

Unlike TurboTax of the past, this version offered very few clarifications that were meaningful, often just restatements of the section summary. while I had an error that needed fixed, the guidance only told me that my version of turbo tax didn't support e-filing for my state. The problem was that I had answered a question about medical cost incorrectly, because of no guidance.

I've been using TurboTax for around 25 years. After this year's experience, I'm looking for another method for next year. Your software has gotten to the point that it is more about the marketing and pigeon holing customers away from what they desire that it was a fight to make the software work. I want stand alone software and sadly TT is no longer that option. I spend money on stand alone. I don't really get that and I have to fight to avoid the constant push to force me down a software track I do not wish to go. This is not about the tax calculation. hoping that's still correct. It's about a company model that no long puts customer wishes as a priority. Market to me once and then abide by my decision! Even the TT AI feedback GUI won't let users select/deselect the review topic or submit negative feedback without extra work. TT has decided for me. I've decided, too.

I didn't like thee way donations were handled where there were more than one non cash donation. In the years before we were able to go into a sections that allowed us to identify the type of donation and place a value on each item from low to high. This year we had to guess what the total value was. I am referring to donations like to Salvation army.

Difficulty every year when I have to submit a credit card to efile state return. The window asking for the credit card information is too large with the button for the next page unable to be seen. Every year I have to figure out what to do, which is remove my task bar at the bottom of the page, which is inconvenient. Please make this window smaller so the tabs in the lower right hand corner can be seen to navigate to the next page.

I've used TT for many years, and usually all goes smoothly. This year, though, there were multiple glitches - imported forms didn't fill correctly (left out data) - thank goodness for the real people in the help forum. Also, several times I got stuck in a loop where I couldn't continue to the next step. In fact, I had to delete my state estimated taxes after saying I'd pay through the NYS portal, b/c TT wouldn't let me go forward from that window. And now, typing this review, the (stupid!) AI "suggestions" are distracting and interfering with my typing. I'm still saying it's a good product, but will be disappointed if I experience same issues next year.

Really not happy that TurboTax discontinued the itemization feature of donations. It used to be simple to enter all items and proceed. We had to use a third party accounting software to track everything and upon importing it still produced lots of errors.
