I have used Turbo Tax for many years and have never had any issues with the Federal or State returns. Accuracy is on point. Update: Turbo Tax final completion reported 1,563 refund. After filing IRS stated I owed the 3,791 I ended up paying the IRS instead of receiving refund and I do not know why-

Excellent software tool with very friendly user interface. Accurate and complete filing capabilities for my families use. Makes an intense and error-prone process that one would complete manually into a reasonably understandable and efficient process. What used to take many hours over many days is now doable in a couple of sessions with the application. This is due to the excellent guidance provided in the U/I and the identification of useful features presented in an intelligent context.

I had just about finished my Federal return when the program locked up. I waited for the spinning wheel to stop but it just did not. I had to force quit the program and all of my data was lost. I would recommend that for the desktop version that Turbo Tax would put a BOLD reminder to save the progress as you go along. Even better would be to auto save every few minutes.

Have been using the product for about 20 years and feel comfortable with it. However I tried to use the online version as suggested, but was not able to resolve the "errors" it was presenting to me (could not find how to get to the forms directly ?). So I had to start over again with the desktop version and successfully filed the return.

I am profoundly disappointed in TurboTax Desktop this year. I have been using TurboTax for YEARS and have always been very happy with the ease of use and overall stability of the program, but this year is the 1st year that I am filing as part of a Registered Domestic Partnership and the experience with TurboTax has been horrible. The sections for RDP are confusing, the instructions are not detailed, and it led to me having to file an amended return after I had to go elsewhere to find accurate and detailed information. I also encountered a serious bug in the program that erases your filing status from the forms at the very end during the final check. This led to me having to manually re-add my filing status in the correct place before printing/e-filing in order to bypass the error. It was only by luck that I even found out what the problem was.

I was able to successfully complete and file my Federal and State returns with TurboTax but it was not easy. I was prompted to correct errors several times but it was very difficult to figure out how and the instructions were not clear or easy to follow. I had to use my best guess about what to do and hope for the best. It took almost six hours to do both returns, almost double the time TurboTax said it would take.

Give me an option to use the same bank debit/deposit details (name, routing # and acct. #) from my federal return on my state return. Entering this information twice for each filing is super inefficient and a waste of my time. One additional set of radio buttons; Use the same bank details and Enter different bank details. Not hard. Entering the same information four times is quite annoying. You've already got the double entered values from the federal filing. Just allow me to use it for the state filing.

I like the ability to keep my tax and financial information off of the cloud and to save my returns to my local hard drive. The TurboTax downloadable version was hard to find, and I had to wade through lots of attempts to get me to use the online version every place I searched. Once I found and downloaded the software, I spent about 30 minutes trying to activate it. The re-captcha function would not let me through no matter what I did. I finally had to log into my Intuit account through a browser to activate the software. Then once I opened the downloaded version, I was presented with a questionnaire asking me why I wouldn't use the online version. I was not allowed to use the downloaded product until I filled out the questionnaire. This is all a VERY BAD look. Now I suspect that the downloadable version is on its way out. I will not use an online/cloud platform for my taxes. You will lose me as a customer if you do as I suspect you are planning and kill the download. In fact, I'm already researching other tax preparation software because you've made it clear that I cannot count on a downloadable version for 2026. If you do not want to scare off your customers who will not post their tax/financial information to an online service, you need to make a commitment now to a downloaded version and make it easy to find, easy to activate, easy to use. Otherwise, you will cede this segment of your customer base.

Little improvement from year to year on user experience. Need to get user focus groups from various tax scenarios and have them go through their pages and tell you what they find hard to understand, where they get lost, experience with downloads, helps, etc. If your team spends a couple of days with a select group of people to go over their taxes minus the data, you will walk away with enormous amount of input to make the program more versatile, fool proof and friendly. Here is yet another annoying bug, why do you have a 4 character minimum on nickname. Am I suppose to make up additional letters to append to my name "Ben"?????
