It is much harder to use than in the past. I use the forms mostly and fill them in myself, and there is no way to open an new blank copy of a form once one has been opened and filled out. I had to go to the easy method to be able to make a duplicate form. Also once a form is completed and reviewed it should be marked as checked instead of leaving it as update.review.

I submitted both state and federal returns the end of February, both were accepted, and I received my state return in less than two weeks. It has been 4 weeks, and I am still waiting for my Federal. Today is March 20th, why is TurboTax still sending updates for state, and federal? Updates should have completed before the season began. Am I gonna have to re-do my taxes?

I have been a TurboTax user for over 20 years, but this year’s experience has been extremely frustrating. The CAPTCHA login process was unnecessarily difficult and poorly designed—I ultimately had to contact support, and even the phone advisor agreed it was a confusing and unpleasant experience. This should not be happening with a product of this caliber. I am also increasingly dissatisfied with the ongoing push toward online-only functionality. I do not want my financial data stored or managed online, and I strongly prefer to keep everything on my local computer. If TurboTax continues to move in this direction and limit offline usability, I will seriously consider switching to another provider such as H&R Block. At this point, it feels like long-time users who prefer a traditional, local software experience are being overlooked. I expect better usability, fewer barriers to access, and more respect for user preferences.

Product calculations are accurate and the interface is easy to use. It is annoying the continuous popups trying to trick you into buying personal advisor ($60), insurance protection ($45), or State filing ($45) when it is not required in my state. Be CAREFUL not to unintentionally select them!

I use Turbox Tax every year. Through the years, it has gotten easier and easier to use. This year I had a couple of errors that I could not fix. I had to use the customer service number to get assistance from Turbo Tax personnel. The lady stayed with me, accessed my computer remotely, and eventually discovered that the problem was an excess Form that needed to be deleted. She then helped me process the Review until there were no errors and I was ready to e-file. Hard work that she did with great patience and a smile! I am not sure, but I think her name was Luna.

The product wasn't as user friendly as it had been. The hints were not as helpful as they have been in previous years. There was also a problem with importing information from my financial institutions, the application said it would delete previous imports when I had to reimport due to updates from my financial institution. However, there were duplicate copies of the documents after the imports. Also, there was a problem printing the Kentucky documents needed to paper file. The documents didn't fit on the 8 1/2 x 11 inch paper and I had to adjust the percentage to get it to print properly.

Calculating the next year's (2026) estimated taxes was a problem. The step-by-step method had no way of entering IRA withdrawal withholding. There was no other way to enter tax withholding other than maybe a W-2 or possibly a W-4 entry, which we have neither since we are retired. We had to over-ride several boxes in the individual forms to get the calculation correct for the estimated tax vouchers. TT kept on calculating the total tax without taking into account IRA distribution withholding. We had no problems with the actual 2025 tax filing itself, only the estimated tax section.

My Federal return was rejected because the ID pin was incorrect. TurboTax imported last year's pin and so that is why the return was rejected. Last year's pin should not be imported, and a reminder to get the 2025 (new) pin should be given. When I obtained the new pin, I was only able to type in the first 5 digits, even though the pin is 6 digits. This is WRONG!! FIX IT,

I miss the days when you could switch between the questions and the forms to make sure your information was being reported properly. And paying the state filing fee requires so many hoops to log into Intuit (captcha city) that I should have just printed it and filed by mail.

Desktop copy loaded without any difficulty. The vast majority of forms and required inputs went smoothly. There were some changes in the inputs required for claiming a RMD which required some extra time compared to last year. If one is not paying attention, a lot of time can be wasted trying to figure out what went wrong.
