For the in-line tax entry, you have options to compute estimated taxes for 2026. Unfortunately, at that point in the process, the information is not available if I use the 2025 as a guide. So, I will return to that portion after finishing a first cut of the 2025 forms. I think the estimated tax computation should be available after the 2024 is done. Also, some widows for entry of dividend, interest info do not have the name of the current institution being currently done. Adding that may help.

I have been using Turbo tax for many years and only one year did I have problems with the program that I had to file online with one of the preparers. The company did not charge me the usual fee because it was a company fault. We live in a remote area and the internet is very sketchie and the program would not download. After (12 hours of trying and many consultations with Tech support and a wrong disk being sent it was deemed that if I were to get my taxes in on time I had to use the online service. The following year everything transferred to the new year taxes program without a hitch. We purchased a satellite system and the program now loads perfectly. Although this year I had to purchase a new computer to accomodate the new program.

entering 1099 forms, especially from brokerage houses, is cumbersome. I also ran into a problem entering 1099R form. A state distribution amount was not shown on the 1099R but NYS makes me fill it in at filing. This is a situation that should have been caught on the state review. Also the interview process is just long!

Locked up a number of times. The cursor pointer would also disappear. I also had a few times when I couldn't advance by pushing the "continue". One point, I had to go into "forms" and change a column so it would force Step-by-Step to kick in again. The most irritating thing though, was that I had to override a home business expense deduction that clearly is legitimate yet the software wouldn't allow it. This would have cost me money! Then when I asked AI about it, they said it was a known and reported issue from 2024!! No excuse for it not being fixed for 2025.

Relatively user-friendly and thorough. I've been using Turbo Tax for several years so the ability to import info from previous years returns is a big help and time saver. The program covers all normal income sources and available deductions; but, it doesn't always handle special situations. I purchased a new vehicle this year and paid over $7,000 in deductible sales tax. Turbo Tax didn't provide a strightforward way to deduct both the sales tax paid on this big ticket item along with regular, routine sales tax. I had to go to the IRS website and use the IRS Sales Tax Deduction Calculator. Using the IRS calculator was very straightforward and enabled me to get the maximum legal deduction; using the calculator increased my refund by over $800. Turbo Tax should incorporate this feature

This year was awful. Previous years have been easy...this year every step was more difficult and it seems you did that on purpose. Downloading was difficult, needing to have an Intuit account was onerous, and entering tax information was far more difficult than before. We don't file our state taxes with you because you are always wrong. We paid a fine for wrong numbers the only time we tried it.

So many more questions. It takes more time and effort to get it done. it's not your fault. Even with using the guidance feature, navigation thru the forms isn't easy. When you must answer a question, that is in a column of questions, why does the cursor return to the first one. It forces the user to scroll all the way down thru all the question to find their place to answer the next one. It is a waste of time... I am not a tax professional and need to go back and forth to complete the job. I can't make a linear progression thru everything and you could help by making improvements in navigating.

This year my experience is between bad and horrible. I've encountered 3 separate bugs in the software. One was admitted by Intuit, but I had to spend 2.5 hours on the phone with level 1 agent, before he conceded to pass me through to level 2, who were able to engage serious conversation, admit and file a bug report. Yes, it was fixed in 3 days. The second one I've found a workaround myself. The third caused the PC to crash twice! around the same place, few screens apart. I had no intent to work as a free beta tester for Intuit. The way you enter certain fields in K-1 could be (VERY MUCH) improved. I'd rather have direct instructions in the software than searching through the filing instructions and community forums.

Turbo Tax sucks. I authorized a ~$6K payment, then the software would not file, instead demanding that I print and file, then write a check -- after I authorized. If I pay twice, you guys are in for a PR embarrassment beyond your wildest nightmares. You are a disgrace. Rep S. helped me understand the issue that your braindead software could not. Kudos to her.
