Return TurboTax Customer

I had some difficulty loading TurboTax to my computer this year. For some reason, I could see the file, but the return start page didn't show up. I kept trying to load it, and I ended up with two files. The other confusing part was the start page trying to encourage filing on your website, whereas I had purchased the package from a retail store and didn't want to avail myself of your website. It doesn't seem as secure. I did like the $10 credit plus the ease of using the program once I was able to start me returns. The ease of e-filing is so nice. The return is calculated accurately, and the topics offer goo guidance.

Disappointing

Our TurboTax expert, Tamara, was amazing. She persisted even when I could not phrase my question quite the right way. Eventually, she understood the question and helped me enormously. It made my whole day. However, the downloaded TurboTax software was not up to its usual standards. Language & explanations were poor. Could not import old tax returns. Could not address an issue about e-filing a state return. AI is only as good as its programmers. Hoping for better next year

Getting harder to use

I've liked TurboTax in the past, and its handy to have my information year to year, but I ran into several instances where I had to "trick" the program because it didn't ask the right questions and then wouldn't let me continue. Also didn't handle my 529 information correctly, and ended up having to manually delete the forms. May look for another solution next year.

Live tax support was worth the investment!

Eileen, the tax expert I worked with, was knowledgeable, professional and thorough. She quickly resolved the issue I experienced. It was a question about reporting RMD distribution requirements. She was able to give me the answer that allowed me to complete my return. I highly recommend Eileen as a valuable asset to TurboTax.

TurboTax works fine. Forced upgrade to Windows 11.

Software worked fine. Forced to Upgrade to Windows 11 after purchasing. Didn't read the fine print. E-mail had glitch that wouldn't allow me to use cloud-based software without making changes to my computer... Paid a $18 penalty for underestimation, even though I used Turbo Tax last year.

TURBO TAX IS TERRIBLE THIS YEAR

You made changes this year with your program and they were not user friendly. I have used your program for over 22 years and this is the worse one I have ever used. I will not be using your program again. I used one of your competitors program to do my grandson's taxes and had no issues. I filed my taxes on 01/22/2026 and received a letter from the IRS requesting confirmation of my identity. There were no errors on the form but I still do not have my refund. I checked on 3/22/2026 and was informed I should receive my refund in about 21 weeks. Even though this may not be your fault, it is your company getting the bad review. You need to do something with the IRS so it doesn't reflect negatively with your company in the future.

TurboTax is the BEST software

TurboTax is a very customer friendly software . It uploaded the information from my previous tax submission saving me time. I like that the Turbo Tax will show you the amounts entered in the previous year so you can quickly and easily make a comparison as you are inputting the current information. I don't have to worry about the accuracy of the amounts reported because TurboTax accurately calculates the numbers. For an elderly person like me, this makes my tax year easy to get through each year.

TURBO TAX ONLINE NEEDS WORK

For the first time I used the OnLine version of TurboTax instead of the Desktop version. I found it to limit my ability to actually understand the transfer of information to the Forms. As such I had questions about my return that couldn't be asked or answered without looking at the Tax Forms. The only way I could look at the tax forms was to indicate the return was complete and put out a PDF of the forms. Once I stated the return was complete, the OnLine version wouldn't allow me to make changes unless I I stated that I needed to amend the return. After several hours of trying different work a rounds, I finally gave up and found a way to transfer the current OnLine version to the Desktop version. Then I was able to make changes and understand what I was doing. AS SUCH, I BELIEVE THE ONLINE VERSION NEEDS WORK BEFORE IT IS READY FOR EVEN TRIAL WORK.

Terrible as a desktop software!

This was the worst experience of bait and switch. Paid for desktop software, and AFTER paying for it I was told I needed to sign up for an Intuit account and log in before I can use the software I paid in full for. Outrageous! Its not bad enough my private data is shared with Intuit, but they want to scrape more data from me by having me sign up for an account!? Then when I log in, every 5th page is an ad to pay for more services. Then there is an extra charge paid to Intuit to e-file?? Another grift! 0 out of 10 for this software. Shame on you Intuit! Stay away from this terrible company and software.

TurboTax 2025 Could Use Some Improvements

I've used TurboTax for years to complete my tax returns, however I was somewhat surprised by a few things toward the end of the process. They are as follows: 1) The AGI question that comes up when e-filing the Federal Tax Return should NOT have a figure from the prior year tax filing vs. the CURRENT year's tax filing. There is a reference in the guidance for "last years tax return AGI" (or sim) which I found confusing . . last year as in the 2024 Tax Filing, or the 2025 AGI listed on Page 1 of 1 of the current tax filing. The fact that TurboTax did not automatically fill this in with the current information (vs. prior year's tax filing) made it very confusing IMO. You should update the guidance language and fill in the default AGI on the current tax year filing. 2) The fact that the TurboTax purchase does not include the One State e-file is not clear up front, making the 'surprise' at the end of the process equates to a restaurant including a tip in the bill for dinner but not clearly stating such. Just a bad reflection on an otherwise smooth, detailed exercise. Do better! 3) The payment process for the EXTRA $ 25 "State e-file" is repetitive to info previously entered into Intuit's TurboTax purchase . . forcing the Customer to re-enter all our information again when the Name/Address is already part of the filing (and original purchase of 2025 TurboTax Deluxe). Unnecessary redundancy. In closing, I've always preferred to purchase the product in retail locations for record purposes . . but TurboTax was nowhere to be found, only Tax Act and H&R Block. Why??
