I have been a user of TurboTax for decades, and have found it to be the one of the best tools for dealing with the complexity of tax preparation/filing and navigating the changes that come with every new tax year. I like its approach to gathering the data with a user-friendly, question-driven interface. I also like the ability to import and compare tax documents from previous years with this year's return.

I had to mail in my returns due to the $10 credit I did not understand locked me into a Premium Service - in-product add-ons. This is the only way I could figure out how to get out of paying an extra $70 dollars for a service I did not want. There was no way I could see to take off the $10 credit no the Premium Service. I am very disappointed in your tactic to increase your revenue and I am now looking for another was to do my taxes.

I've used TurboTax for decades. It isn't as good as it used to be. There are occasional glitches that I have to work around and the input screens for investment income were made much more cumbersome last year and they still are a real pain. Every year I consider switching but end up sticking with the devil I know.

Turbotax is fine for simple tax returns, but if you have to deal with something like community property (for spouses in different states), then you end up filling out paperwork manually. If you're not the spouse who lives in the community property state then you even have to trick the software into letting you enter the information by changing your residence to a different state, and then changing your residence back.

After 80% of taxes complete desktop program would not open. 10 hours spent researching and attempting to repair. Did NOT call TT as numerous reviewers testified they were of no help. Research indicated Redistributables were likely culprits. Downloaded new ones and eventfully achieved an opening. All fine for...6 Days when problem repeated. Again an hour or two fix. After achieving a restart I put computer in sleep mode with TurboTax still open requiring no further restarts. Help/Search aid was the absolute WORST I've ever experienced on an internet site. It found NOTHING I ever searched for. Google faster and more accurate.

i HAVE BEEN A TRUBO TAX USER BEFORE TURBO TAX WAS TURBO TAX. SOME OF THE CHANGES HAVE SLOWED DOWN THE TAX PREPARATION PROCESS AND IN FACT HAS MAD ME FILE AMENDED RETURNS FOR FEDERAL AND STATE. IN PREVIOUS YEARS QCD ENTRIES WERE A SIMPLE ONE BOX IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE ENTRY OF THE IRA'S. NOW IT CONTAINED IN A LISTING OF SEVERAL DIFFERENT ITEMS AND IS NOT READILY IDENTIFIABLE. NEEDS IMPROVEMENT. THERE IS A QUESTION ARE YOU A UNITE STATES CITIZEN with small question regarding living i income in a foreign country. a foreign country.. UNFORTUNATELY I CHECKED YES TO THE QUESSTOIN ARE YOU A UNITED STATES CITIZEN AND ENDED UP NOT PAYING TAX ON SOCIAL SECURITY. THE WORDING MIGHT BE ARE A UNITED STATES CITIZEN AND DID YOU LIVE IN A FORIGN COUNTRY YES NO. ALSO FILIING A 1040 X IS NOT STRAIGHT FORWARD. WOULD BE EASISER TO BE ABLE TO SELECT A 1040X FROM LISTING OF FORMS AND IT WOULD BE POPULATED WITH THE CURRENT YEAR AMOUNTS ALREADY FILED THEN ENTER THE CHANGES. SIMILAR WITH PREVIOUS YEARS INPUT. CHANGES FOR ENTRY OF INTEREST, DIVDENDS IS REALLY SLOW TO GET TO THE RIGHT PLACE TO ENTER THE DATA. ALL IN ALL PREVIOUS GENERATONS HAVE BEEN BETTER FROM A USERS STANDPOINT.

Shows me the return. Do you have deduction X? No. Shows me the return. Do you have deduction Y? No. Show me the return. We know you live in Florida, but don't you want to file a state return anyway? Are you sure? You're really really sure that you've lived in Florida since 1999, and Turbotax has known that you live in Florida since 1999? Aw, c'mon, do a Florida state return, just for us.

Everything goes rather smoothly until you get to the end of the return. It gets a bit confusing when you start to file the returns & print. Also, personally I think $40.00 filing fee is too much for the state return. I have used Turbo tax for many, many years and have recommended it to many friends but I continue to be upset with the state filing fee.

I have been using TurboTax for many, many years. This year's version (Desktop version Deluxe) was a big hassle for two reasons: 1) It requires Windows 11 (we mostly have computers that still run Windows 10, but have one newer computer that we were able to run TurboTax on) 2) The financial data import for Merrill Lynch did not work. It seemed like TurboTax would not/could not connect with Merrill Lynch (error 590 all the time). This had been one of the big time savers with TurboTax for us. Because of these hassles, I may stop using TurboTax in the future.

Frankly, this is probably the last time I'll use TurboTax (after having used it for over 25 years). The quality of the software continues to degrade. This year there were so many errors in the software around which I had to navigate that it seemed it would've just been easier to fill out the forms my hand. I will definitely be choosing from among other software options in the future. Between this and the elimination of Mint.com, Intuit was a brand that I had complete confidence in 10 years ago and now that confidence is completely eroded. I will no longer consider Intuit options for further types of financial software in the future
