I have been using TurboTax over 20 years. Reliable, easy to use, easy to follow all Q&A, no math required, it does it all. At the end you can save all forms in pdf as it adds to your file, you can save as you progress, it allows and sets it for refunds or money you owe to IRS thru direct deposit or debit your bank account. No hassle to post office trip and worry about your check. Text's you when accepted by IRS. Worry Free !!

There are still some sections that are not self explanatory and require me to use Google to try and figure out what Turbo Tax is asking and what type of response I need to put. Especially California Capital Loss Carryover section in the State Tax. It tells me to input the amount?? Why doesn't Turbo Tax fill it out?

You have a major problem with your credit card inputting for the state return. The vertical dropdown box of the month of expiration only goes from 1 to 11. My credit card expires on month 12. And I cant see the 12 to select it. I can't even type the 12, since your program forces me to use the dropdown box which does not show the 12 option. And I cannot resize my window to see the 12. I had to use another credit card that had a non month 12 expiration date, which is silly!!!!

We've been faithfully using TurboTax since the early 90's and have never regretted it. We enjoy the simplicity of the Q&A flow and never having to view any of the forms unless we wanted to. All entries we make during the interview process places our responses on to the correct forms and in their respective locations.

Have been using Turbo Tax for a few years. This is the first year I have had a problem that actually confused me to a point where I paid for your tax advice consultants. I had two issues. one was with the Bank of America routing numbers. It would not let me enter a new number that was different from previous years. I had to call BOA . who said it didn't matter which routing number I used. Turbo Tax could not help. 2Nd was E filing. I set up a payment plan with routing numbers but Turbo Tax printed A 1040V payment form and said to mail it with a check. It did not say do not send if you are E filing. I was confused and paid for your tax consultant service to guide me through and told me I did not need to send it.

Confusing guidance on mailing address. I am his tax preparer (legal letter of testamentary for deceased). I live in NY but he lived in Texas. The Turbo Tax software now prints/lists my address in NY as the deceased HOME address. This may cause NY to come after him for state income tax. Happened to me before.

Even though I have used Turbo Tax for decades, I could not populate all of my personal data fro previous years. I had to re-enter EVERYTHING and cannot compare this year's return with any previous years. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! The when I had to print my return before e-filing, the program locked.

TurboTax is great for a knowledgable taxpayer who sticks with the Forms option. After entering the 1099-R for my IRA, I inadvisably reviewed with EasyStep, which dropped by QCD amount. TurboTax NJ this year forgot to include the forms for 2026 estimated payments.

Lost most of my information sometime after a save. Re-entered it. Things that used to be included in the version I bought now require an upgrade for more $$$$$. Can't remember bank account information between Federal and State Versions. Buggy imports from my financial institutions required manually reviewing and correcting line after line. Never prompted me for my IP PIN even though I have used one for years with Turbo Tax.

The program is frustrating because it asks for things that IRS does not require, such as driver's license. It repeatedly asks i I, a Texas resident, need to file a state return. Once should be enough. Also, this year when I first filled in my data, it failed to calculate. It's the first year I've been single, and it kept asking for spouse's information regarding all my pensions (I have three now), and it was unclear whether it was me or my deceased husband to which it referred. I finally got that straightened out, but it was very annoying. This is the first year I haven't rated TurboTax a 5, but it certainly wasn't very intuitive regarding changes necessary because I'm now a widow, filing status single.
