I have had great success with using Turbo Tax to do my income taxes for several years now. I enjoy the way the software handles any situation that may come up. It almost makes the task of doing my taxes a fun thing to do. I like the way that each year it seems to get easier to get the job done.

I have used TurboTax for many years and like the product. I tried the suggested on-line version and Did NOT like it. First, the Desktop version included the State for a $25 filing fee while the on-line wanted to charge $65. I also did not like that I could not store copies of my files on my desktop (and backup the files on my flash drive). If in future years you no longer offer the desktop version, I will find another tax software.

Was so much easier when you supplied a disk. my daughter has the account and supposedly 5 family members can use TurboTax on it. Now getting it on my computer from her account is extremely difficult. I have been using TurboTax since it was on a single 5 inch floppy. Over the years it has seen considerable improvements but not last year nor this year. For instance the red buttons in the 1099R page are in-operative!

The format was not always easy to follow. I did not need some of the forms and needed others. Not easy to determine how to use the ones I needed and discard those that I did not. I much preferred last year's format!!! Not easy to print single documents.

A number of different spelling errors and typos in the version this year along with the long editions of the Home Energy Tax Credit forms 5695. They only added them to the online version at first that they charge quite a bit more and it took them a few weeks to get the form added to the desktop version

I inadvertently forgot to enter my Social Security SSA-1099 information on my 2024 return and had to file an amended return. I was surprised and disappointed that the TurboTax software did not catch that discrepancy when i had a Social Security SSA-1099 in 2023.

I thought the program saved as it went. That was not my case. After entering information, I clicked continue, a colorful circle appeared for 20 minutes. I decided the program froze and rebooted. When I went back into the program it did not give me a chance to continue. I had to retype all the information into the program again. Not happy that I had to do this a second time. this time I saved as I went.

Entering interest and dividends myself was a bit confusing. Liked it better when you simply provided a list from previous year and clicked on the payer and entered the new numbers. Seemed to go around in circles this year. Entered the payer on your first screen, then continued, then had to go back, and after another click saw a few boxes to select whether it was for interest, dividends, etc. Was incovenient and time consuming.

Overall a great product. I feel very comfortable being led through the many fields. Only complaint is that to file state, I have to pay $25. OK, that is not too bad. But it's really bad that you charge a fee of $40 to have the $25 taken out of my federal return! Come on, a $40 fee to pay a $25 bill? It's just wrong. I undid it and charged to credit card.

Takes too long to update application with the applicable amendment documents by each state and federal govt. App need a lot more effective navigations and display of information as you go thru the document. In my case, it didn't recognize last years 1099R as I pull over the saved document on my computer.
