2025 Deluxe product sucked for multiple reasons.

I have been a TurboTax user for over 10 years and typically rave and recommend to others. This year I am extremely disappointed in the product and do not plan to purchase for my 2026 returns or continue recommending. Reasons - 1) discontinuance of an incorporated Its Deductable charitable valuation tool. Not disclosed in product advertisements before I purchased and alternative promised tool too late for me to wait for. 2) late availability of 1099 R form, and included form to ask for notification by email when available was nonfunctional as it included another prefilled form number. 3) Buggy charitable contributions entry with disappearing entered contributions if you deleted another charity form after making entries. Disappointing. I plan to change tax software next year.

Bugs... never had bugs before.

Locked up a number of times. The cursor pointer would also disappear. I also had a few times when I couldn't advance by pushing the "continue". One point, I had to go into "forms" and change a column so it would force Step-by-Step to kick in again. The most irritating thing though, was that I had to override a home business expense deduction that clearly is legitimate yet the software wouldn't allow it. This would have cost me money! Then when I asked AI about it, they said it was a known and reported issue from 2024!! No excuse for it not being fixed for 2025.

Desktop version worked better than on-line version

Everything went okay for the most part. I tried to use the "online" version which was fine until I tried to e-file. It would not work. I also could not get a print copy to mail. I used my "desktop" version and it worked fine. (After I re-entered all the previous data). Overall a good experience.

NY St Tax Return

I can not file NY state return. One of my 1099 R Box 1 $1434. Box 14 (State Tax w/h) is $500.00 Your objection says "Box 14 should not be equal or more than box 1" .It is not.. Box 1 is more than box 14. Your accuracy of the program is false. I do not know how to file the NY State Tax return. I can not overrule your objection. Please me.

I've used T-Tax forever

Been using T-Tax since it was version 1.0. I really have no problems because I was an accountant for 30yrs at a large communications company. Prep work is the easy way to file the returns. I use quicken to record all me transactions during the year. Quicken schedules help me summarize everything. I download my own 1099's for my financial Institutions. I input last yeas return and go back to complete the return.

Tried and true

TurboTax is a tried and true system. The product works as well as ever. I keep wishing they would allow for a better touch screen interface. Get into the 21st century guys, and allow someone to scroll up and down by swiping the picture, not the scroll bar. The online version is a rip-off. Tell me in the beginning how much more it's going to cost me so I don't use it in the first place. Incorporate the pdf-reading capabilities of the online version into the desktop version.

Annoyed

Going through the data entry process was fine as usual. But going through the closing process, printing a copy for review, requiring interface with adobe, was cumbersome and annoying having to load it then cancel, was annoying vs the straight forward print and review procedure of past years

Mostly good stuff and one not so good

I find the software easy to use and I appreciate how it guides me through the process. However, it is not helpful when it is time to file- it forces an e-file choice at a fee for state and does not easily allow me a way to print it and mail it in to avoid the fee. It feels rotten that it this is not transparent.

Oregon State Tax Missing a $2000 Deduction

I've been using TurboTax since the mid 90s and it's a good product. BUT, for the 3rd year in a row your OREGON STATE TAX program is not taking me to the SUBTRACTIONS WITH CODE. Specifically, Federal Pension Credits 307. The first year we lived here in Oregon and filed taxes was 2021. And TurboTax State took me to a question/answer section about being a Federal Retiree asking what year did I start and what year did I retire? And it's a $2,000 swing in what I have to pay Oregon!! How come you folks don't still do that? It's really fortunate that I remember this section and can "dig" around for 30 minutes every year to find this sections again. Wondering how many other retirees in Oregon using TurboTax aren't getting this deduction?

Turbo tax has lost it!

A user must re-learn your quirks, changes, and process to battle through your instructions. Most previous editions possessed similar steps and explanations, and locations of information, where as now it is a hunt and guess system. import information verses using statements is a pain;. especially from small company sources.
