When TurboTax starts up on my computer, it usually says "Update will take 5 minutes." Several hours later, it finally has updated all that it needs to change/add, and is ready for the user to begin utilizing the program. I have a fast connection rate with my computer ISP, but that doesn't seem to affect the rate of update from the program. It wastes a lot of time.

Splash screen is about fifteen years old. Particularly annoyed with estimating how much tax to be withheld from pensions and Social Security. That function isn't included. Either you fill out a W-4 for en employer (not applicable) or you create estimated tax payments (not relevant).

Our return is simple. I import all important items. I know we will use the Standard Deduction so, unless I missed it, I would like to see a Check Box at the Beginning of Deductions, to allow me to skip all the itemized sections and go straight to the Std. Ded. without attemping to asseble all the data needed to see if I could itemize. I know that we won't come close, so let me by-pass it. Makes sense to me, but I'm not an accountant. Well I try to send my taxes by e-file and they rejected it saying they needed my wife Ruth AGI. No where did your program ask me for my wife AGI. So why do they need it, if they don't ask. And why did they want my wife AGI when we are filling as joint filling. I put my wife and I AGI in the space from my 2024 tax return that I did on Turbo Tax program, but they still rejected it! don't understand. You need to fix it for me.

Generally okay, but when trying to pay for MA state e-file, TurboTax asked to save my return and locked up and completely crashed my windows machine, and I have high-end recent model. Also, when TurboTax asked for my credit card info I couldn't even scrolled down in the pull-down box to enter my expiration month. The box wouldn't go any further than month 8. I thing TurboxTax should stop being so sloppy. Every year something like this happens. Taxes and payments shouldn't be a sloppy business. You're scaring me Intuit.

After initial launch, importing the previous year's data and saving, the app apparently didn't actually save the data, and I had to redo it. At the end during filing, the audit defense choice is confusing, and even though I didn't select it, the app required me to enter address information specifically for audit defense.

The product is great. However, when i tried to use my credit card to pay for my state (OH) return filing, it wouldn't advance beyond my name /address screen. Thus, I was forced to pay the $40 fee from my federal return, which is crazy. Please explain. I've got 2 other returns to file in my family soon.

I had two issues with Turbo Tax. 1. When editing retirement income, the boxes to select editing or deleting are hidden in the row. One must know that those boxes exist and hover the mouse over the "hidden" boxes and hopefully select the correct box (edit or delete). 2. In entering gambling income, the forms indicate that if the state information is blank (e.g. Washington), don't enter a state identifier. However smart check insists that this is an error.

ran thru the process three times - printed out for visual verification - found missed items the software "forgot" to ask for. Not onlty tthat, the "review" keeps trying to insert words as I am typing. The $40 surprise FEDERAL REFUND fee at the end was NOT explained in clear terms. The fee is ONLY IF THE STATE E-FILE fee was chose to come out of the FEDERAL tax refund. How hard is it to add those simple words to the instructions.

I have been a faithful user of Turbo Tax for more than ten years - in the past I was a huge fan of the product - its simplicity, its accuracy, its ease of guiding me through the entire process of filling my Federal & state taxes each year was top notch - since the changes that made the product no longer available on a disc that could be loaded onto my computer, and required me to use it as an online product, I have experienced nothing but problems - maybe because I don't understand all the intricacies of using the product, maybe because of slow wifi, or slow internet or whatever, I do not know why; but all I do know is I have problems now that I never experienced in the past, and therefore the product "quality" has dropped significantly in my view - in fact for the first time since I began using Turbo Tax, this year I looked for an alternative product that may be more "user friendly" to me.
