Great software, too many options and add-ons

I love TT and have been. using it for several years. It seems like this year you were pushing a LOT of different options and add-ons, like doing it online rather than desktop, getting live help, etc. You have to realize that that just overly complicates an already complicated process. The screens, especially the opening screen, look much "busier" than they need to be. Make the options very simple and straightforward. Also realize that a lot of your users are seniors who like to stick to what they already know. For them you should make what they already know EASIER to use. One other thing... as I was transmitting, the program crashed. It just kept spinning on "transmitting," and I was kinda freaking out. Wasn't very easy to locate a support person quickly. Make that phone number EASY TO FIND for emergencies. Turned out that it wasn't really a big deal, but for a little while I was really worried about what was happening. Daniel was very helpful. Might help to put up a list of common situations, like what to do if the program stops responding while transmitting.

excellent tax program for individuals

I found the program user friendly with the step by step process. I have been a turbotax user for decades. I found the help menu a bit lacking this year. I had to research some of my responses on the internet a few times as I choose to not have to pay an additional fee for help through turbotax assistants.. I never want to use the cloud version, so please continue offering us the option to save and use our program on our own computers. Thank you.

Great Live Help

I had to make several call to speak with Turbo Tax experts about some questions before filing my 2025 tax returns. The agents I spoke with were all knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Most importantly, they assisted me in completing my 2025 taxes for e filing.

Difficult to enter foreign income and taxes

I've been using TurboTax for over 20 years, and for the most part it has been excellent. However, I struggle every year to figure out where to enter some foreign income (a pension) and the tax paid on it. This time around, I ended up having to reinstall TurboTax 2024, open up my 2024 return, and follow the steps there to see how I had done it. Eventually, I had to switch to forms so I could study all the worksheets before I was able to complete the taxes paid portion (a Form 1116 needed to be created but not submitted).

I like it, but there's a pretty big bug

Not sure what you are looking for here. Maybe Mr.?

We have been a TurboTax customer for many years (and will continue to be!). Each year it seems to get a bit more complicated an intense - maybe it's be age. It would be nice to know what questions are new for the current filing. And if more of the questions can be added to a page, it may give the impession of being a little less complicated. Thank you for providing this product. (Beats using a CPA!)

turbo tax is very effective

I have used your tax software for 21 years and never have had an issue with my filings. Always been easy to use and file. No mistakes have ever been found. I have two computers and when I first tried to download on a system that was using 13.7 the software would not work as the OS had to be newer. So I had to download again on higher OS system.

Turbo Tax used to be easier to follow.

I have been using Turbo Tax for 23 years and haven't had much problem doing so. Why am I getting emails telling me I need to add my income? We are retired and I entered all our income from SS and retirement accounts. I found it much more difficult to enter our SS and retirement income this year than in previous years.

Returns rejected -- TurboTax did not find errors

For the third year in a row, both Fed and NC returns were submitted electronically but REJECTED after TurboTax reported that they were error-free. The problem each year has been that the fed return expects information from a Form 1095-A. I don't know why -- we have never received such a form. We do receive a 1095-C. Your questions about receipt of RMD are confusing and misleading, and perhaps inaccurate. They imply or state that the entire RMD was paid 31 December 2025, and that is not correct. Many people also receive RMD's in June, and 31 December is not the payment date for December. Too many questions ask for information that has already been entered.

TurboTax has really gone downhill

My state return was originally incorrect and needed to be updated. Also, they removed ItsDeductible from the software this year. Save yourself the money and go with a cheaper product, state e-File is cheaper elsewhere and the software costs half the price and you still get 5 federal returns. I was a customer for over 20 years, this is my last year.
