turbotax is horrible this year!

I have liked turbotax in the past but the updates are HORRIBLE!!!! I HATE IT!!!!! IT"S IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND THINGS, trys to get you to do it online, can't find a summary to do community property adjustements. I am SO frustrated and will not be using turbotax again!

Not as smooth as last year.

This was the more frustrating filing ive had sice using Turbo Tax. It offered instead of using my computer to do all online however it wasnt importing any of my info from my account so what good is it. I went back to my computer program and did it as usual and got it all imported from saved returns, I attempted to have it downloaded from my turbo tax account however it wouldnt do that either. I dont know what the issue was this year but frustrating. I even tried to just print my state return instead of eFiling it for $25.00 and instead of only printinig the state as requested it did federal also, which I didnt need to print.

Import is clunky

The step by step process was more cumbersome than previous years. The steps were not as clear and it took longer to input our info. The import from external financial sources (investments primarily) was very clunky. TT should recognize that downloads from firms that were used in years past should be recognized instead of creating a new download.

Intuits mistake

I've been using Turbo Tax for decades. As a professional and then personal. I am overall very happy with the program. Very easy to navigate and walks you through everything and has been very accurate. However, I am very disappointed that Intuit has gotten rid of ItsDeductible. I used this for clients and for my personal donations and the interface was extremely helpful. The fact that they just left us without any tool is unacceptable to me. I may have to find a different program to use next year if this isn't resolved as it was the biggest feature setting TurboTax apart from other programs.

don't try to download the adobe they ask you to!

At the end, you asked me to download a copy of a new adobe so i could create a PDF. Now i can not send the pdf to my printer and adobe is now asking me to start a trial then pay in 7 days,,,,why could you not leave well enough alone-and you had to advertise for adobe.....

Error not found by Turbotax software

The worksheets were easy to work with, and the review at the end was very helpful. However, after running the complete tax review, the program told me that everything was good and that that there no errors, however, my tax return was rejected because "the date of birth entered by the spouse on the "Sign Your Return" screen does not match the date of birth information that the IRS has obtained from the Social Security Administration." The date had been correct throughout the filing process, but there was an error in the "sign your return", that was not checked by the program. Therefore, I had to resubmit the for and pay the filing fees all over again......

Double-charged and long phone waits

Program is easy to use. But wait times for phone assistance are long. Had to call once already because I was charged twice for a state return. Now I've been charged twice again for another return, so I'll have another long wait time calling again. Very frustrating. Also, I was initially confused by the online option, but phone person helped me with that.

Need Additional Error Check

I made the mistake of entering charitable contributions twice. Once as a deduction from my RMD and then again as an itemized deduction. This had no impact on my federal return but did carry through to my state return. It was only I filed my return did I think through the consequences of how that could be an error. I submitted an amended return. Perhaps an "error check" would have caught this for me prior to filing.

1099s by Financial Institution

Each year the 1099 section seems to go through a reorganization for presentation. This year they're sorted by financial institution which requires all sorts of clicks just to get to what I wanted to edit. I thought I missed a 1099 entry to review/edit when it was presented under the company name rather than simply in a 1099 list. Wouldn't it be better to list the 1099s by form number and company so the user can select the one needed for review/edit? If you're in that area of the program (step by step), you know what you're looking for specifically to select. There are to many "buckets" to wade through just to find the form you want to look at. The 1099-Rs are found under the company name for example. Just list em all with a company name to identify it and provide the "edit" or "delete" options. I use both the step by step (so I don't miss anything) and forms (for the details) to create my return thus knowing which forms to go after. The step by step is becoming more and more hoops to jump through. Overall I'm a satisfied 29 yr TurboTax user having paid $16 for the first copy of the pgm. Keep up the good work and party on!

Unnecessarily Frustrating

There is always something. Most years an error pops up and says Line xx needs information. However the pop-up gives mo information as o what is needed on what form for what reason! That did not happen this year (yay!). Instead, it played games at filing time. I chose e-filing for Federal, but chose not to e-file state since paying $25 to get a $50 return more quickly is silly. The app gave no option for printing the state return! After multiple cycles back thru it, and checking on the Help web pages, I found no answer. Finally I backed up and said I was going to file my FEDERAL by mail. That finally got me a prompt to print my State for filing by mail! Why hide it?
