Problem with Importing 1099s from Brokerage

The 2025 TurboTax program had one problem I had not encountered before. It had to do with importing 1099s from my Brokerage firm (RBC Capital Markets). In prior years, the 1099s were easily imported and I did not have to fill out any data from the 1099s I received directly from RBC. This year in attempting to import the 1099s I ended up in a do-loop. I would seek to import the forms; TurboTax would open up a new tab, I entered my RBC login and password; that tab would tell me the importation was successful and tell me to go back to TurboTax. However there was no data in TurboTax. So I had to hunt around and find a way to manually enter the summary data. VERY UNFRIENDLY.

Turbo-Tax, more of the same.

4th qtr state estimated payment entry non-obvious. Income earned unevenly throughout year is a pain-in-the-butt as there's no help dividing the various income categories/sources - you'll need a backup spreadsheet if making estimated payments or have an underpayment penalty. Wish UI interview sequencing would improve for those topics as there hasn't been a change in over a decade esp. if going to text me with upselling that looks like phishing. Otherwise, still the best self-directed, paid tax prep s/w.

Ease of use improvements

It was mostly fine, but there are things that can be better. For example, some of the obscure income and deductions should already be filled out. For example, some of the deductions are based on income. If the income is over a certain amount, they aren't valid. These should be "locked out" because the income information has already been filled out. When you go through them, you end up finding out that yo don't qualify. It is a waste of time that can be avoided if the software was smart enough to handle those situations.

Good but nothing to brag about

Product is easy enough to use but because 2026 taxes included senior legislation from the One Big Beautiful Bill, I received zero feedback as to if I received an extra exemption, or if I got $6000 for seniors and why or why not. Your software is aged so at best you would have gotten 4 stars. And stop advertising all your add ons

One major weakness in Turbotax

When INTUIT canceled Its Deductible in the middle of the year, it created many problems and difficulties for your clients. A program such as Its Deductible married to the Tax program is significant and worth paying a fee for. Please consider re-inventing the wheel and bringing the program back.

$40 Refund Processing Fee!

Very disappointed in the $40 Refund Processing Fee that is dropped on the tax payer in the final steps- dishonest, unethical and other unpleasant terms. You won't print this and don't care; it's all about ,money. Turbo tax is becoming as expensive as private tax preparer; watch out you may lose customers.

NOT HAPPY

This year... after MANY years using Turbo Tax My bad experience is with New York State. Your software would not allow me to input the $120.00 withheld for NY copied directly from my 1099-R. I could only enter ZERO, So I lose. May not be much BUT it would buy my groceries for a week.

program does not work properly on windows 11

I had numerous problems with using your tax program. When i download it on my main computer it worked for one day and then went to error code. I was able to download it on my laptop which has windows 11 just like my main computer and it worked just fine. This a problem because I talked to other people who had the same problem. You need to get your act together. It also destroyed the last three years of my taxes on my main computer.

It sucks this year

This is the first year I have had a horrible experience with Turbotax. First of all, I have only done 3 tax returns and have had to mail 2 of them in because of the error message "It seems we have a glitch". I tried all the recommended fixes and nothing worked. The error happened only when I tried to "pay" for either a fee or a tax. 2nd problem is that Turbotax says I have used all 5 of my returns.....I have not. I still have my own return to do and my parents, who are in their 80's. It has been an actual nightmare, and I have done these returns for as long as Turbotax has existed. I do not plan on using you guys again unless there is something that fixes this. I cant even get help through support, without paying for it, and its not even a problem I have....its a turbotax issue which is all over the internet and nobody is getting satisfaction. I am so disappointed I cant even put it into words.

Desktop TurboTax is BETTER than Online TurboTax

The interface for the desktop product is far superior to the one for the online product. Also, the Desktop product allows the import of accounting files from other products while the online produce does not, and the Desktop product has far fewer NAG SCREENS.
