Overall easy to use!

I filed my taxes on someone else's computer (thanks to your software's incompatibility with Windows 10) and would like to have a copy on my own computer and the ability to print it at my office, however there is no way for me to send a secure copy thru email. Would have cost me twice as much to do online. :( Overall easy to work with. Your screen shows "employer contribution' to HSA and I think this should be 'employee/employer contribution'. Had a couple of instances where we couldn't go back.

Great Product Despite Slipping User Interface

I am a big fan of TurboTax and have used it for over 20 years. I have always given it a 5 star rating until this year. I was not a big fan of the user interface this year. Many of the information "look up" boxes were left off making this edition a little more like deciphering the government language on paper forms. I found myself having to look up items like 403(b) and alternatives online as I clicked through my Civil Service annuity distribution declaration. The CSA 1099R form with a code 7 in Box 7 should have been sufficient for TurboTax to determine the distribution information. If I have to click choices to make decisions, then please return to the level of explanation in the program that was customary and expected just 4-5 years ago. I realize that forms may not always be finalized by mid-January because there can be late IRS updates to TurboTax. While it was unusual to see so many delays warnings to completing my taxes in the third week of January, I won't fault TurboTax for it. I will continue to choose TurboTax for my annual filing, but I definitely hope they return to the much more informative user interface and information lookup they excelled at just a handful of years ago. I know the videos from years ago were costly and may not be possible today, but they were informative. Filers want to be comfortable in their choices of clicks; guessing/assuming isn't the way to go.

Some suggested improvements

Suggestions: !) 1099-INT When adding a new source of interest income, you're not providing blanks to enter the payer's TIN. You have to go to the form to enter it. 2) State Return Instead of heckling me to buy a state return, please include logic to bypass this when my filing address is in a state like Tennessee that has no state income tax. 3) 1099-R More guidance is needed on how to complete RMD questions when the 1099-R is for a pension as opposed to a 401k, 403b, etc. It's confusing to answer questions about whether the distribution was 100% RMD when, technically, it was a pension payment, not an RMD. Still, it appears the correct answer is to answer as if the pension payment was a 100% RMD payment.

Great software most of the time

This year the software is a bit wonky. Followed the instructions on part "C" to the letter but the software kept asking for a company name where there is none . Instructions say "if none leave blank". Took 3 tries and an update before the completed package allowed transmission.

Easy Taxes with TurboTax

I have used TurboTax for several years. We have a simple tax situation and it has been easy to use. I find the walk through process easy to understand. I like the explanations that are offered while filling out the forms. I will keep using TurboTax as I am familiar with it and it is easy to use.

Found a serious bug among several

Let you e-file without a PIN. The program implies it is optional. There is no way to go back to enter it as your online instructions are wrong. Instructions on right side of screen say "Open TurboTax Desktop. Select Fix my return. Follow the onscreen instructions to enter your 2025 IP PIN to re-file your return." This is incorrect. There is no option to "fix my return" and no way to get to it. This is a critical bug.

Powerful software once you know how to use it

TurboTax Desktop is extremely thorough and accurate, especially for more complex returns involving self-employment, deductions, and debt cancellation. The Smart Check feature helped catch issues I would’ve missed, and once everything was entered correctly, the refund calculations updated instantly. The process can feel overwhelming at first if you have Schedule C income or special situations, but the software ultimately does what it’s supposed to do and gives confidence that the return is complete and accurate. Best suited for people who want full control over their return.

Pole Building Depreciation Options

Everything was great. My only additional hope was to learn more about the depreciation options for the new pole building I constructed last year for my business. Was hoping to learn more about the 15 year depreciation option and when that applies instead of just doing the 39 year depreciation. But all fine.

TT helped me again!

Yes I interacted with a review experts. Fortunately, with Her help we were able to get the software "unstuck" trying to file them electronically. Afterwards, I was told that it was a "software" clich that hung up getting into the filling routine. We kept going "back" several times and like magic the the software decided to. open the next screen allowing me to begin filling my federal and state returns.

I Like the Turbotax

I love the product. However in some cases the explanations are lacking. When completing the Roth or traditional IRA input areas it is confusing . The term "contribution " needs to be further explained as it does not include conversions from a traditional to Roth IRS. Those are conversions not contributions.
