I use Turbo Tax for the last 25 years never had any issues until 2025. Only Windows 11 compatible. I like my work done on my personal PC not online web service, especially after I purchased (advantage member) on auto renew and find out later compatibility issue.

attempted to file using online product which has been used in the past but, filing would not complete due to 9 digits in W2 Line 15 requirement on Federal that State would not take and once trying to file efile on Fed and mail on State it locked up system. Spoke with 2 representatives on 2/28/26, trying multiple fixes and nothing worked. Opted to use my sister's free Federal from her desktop version and hurrah, COMPLETED!

I have used Turbotax for many years and feel very confident in using it. This year was easy because of the big standard deductions, but normally I itemize. Turbotax takes me thru all situations, calculates all the figures and puts them where they need to be. One year it even found a situation that applied to me that I had not even been aware of.

TurboTax user for 25 years. Input screens seem to be getting so simple (dumbed down) that they are now confusing as to what data needs to be input. This leads me to question TurboTax's accuracy in calculating the various IRS forms. A first time user may not catch all of the nuances. All of the questions I had with TurboTax caused me to take longer to do the 2025 Fed taxes than expected. Several areas where state ID information is requested in 1099-R section. Texas not listed in selection screen as a choice. 1099-R data input did not place amounts into 1040 form where I expected them. Input was reviewed and found to be correct. Deleted input completely and re-entered information; amounts on 1040 form were then placed where expected. 1099-R RMD screen is very confusing. As a first time taker of RMDs, I have until April 2026 to take my RMDs. I actually took them in Dec 2025. The way the screen appears to be worded, it said I needed to input $0 as my RMD number for 2025. This makes no sense. I called TurboTax, they confirmed this was correct. Not sure what underlying screens or year to year RMD tracking is affected. Screen needs major wording clarification. Also, why is TurboTax updated every time I log in? If software updates change my situation after I've input data or filed my taxes, how is my filing affected? It still updates my 2024 version if I open it!

This year was a breeze to install and set up. In years past the download process was very aggravating so this is plus. Keep it up. My return is simple and for convenience I e-file my state return but I think $25.00 is outrageous for this service and I nearly elected just to print and mail it in.

After using Turbotax since the 1990's, this is the first year I was disappointed. I had non-resident income for Michigan, and I was not able to download any of the tax forms for Michigan. Federal and Illinois tax forms were ok, but I will need to consult a tax account to finish the Michigan income tax

product was easy to use but i was surprised it did not ask for banking information . routing and account number until just before filing it really should have asked for this info as you finish up the federal tax forms like during the review. i went to the form itself and entered the info only to find out it could be done after completing the state taxes just before sending off the return

Highly disappointed in the TY 2025 version of TurboTax. Too many glitches in the software resulted in it taking me twice the time it usually takes to do my taxes. Also, many of the help explanations were confusing. Frankly I got more help out of using GROK AI than I did from the actual software. I will come back and use TurboTax again only if they fix the problems.

When I initially entered my information, I was informed I owed a penalty due to tax underpayment. It took a good deal of effort to discover how to use the annualized method, which I used and eliminated the penalty. A prompt to suggest use of Form 2106 and how to use the annualized method would have been helpful.

Generally, it is great and I like the features of the program for filing for myself and my wife each year. This year I had a problem when I missed the check box on one of the last few screens dealing with having an identity protection pin. I did not catch this and subsequently had my return rejected twice until I went back through each of the final pages and found the error. They also change this pin each year, which I forgot about. I was able to fix the problem and my return was accepted. HOWEVER - a word of warning. I believe the two rejections may have caused my return to be delayed pending a letter from the identity validation section which required a phone call (with all the usual problems getting through). The online quick ID validation site would not work for some reason with my letter. Once connected a series of questions, which was fine - however then they advised it would be another 9 weeks (up to) to get our refund. What a headache from this mistake. (The IRS person I spoke to said she also made this error on her return!!) Perhaps TT can format the ID protection pin entry in such a way that it is towards the final page or make it harder to miss. Just a suggestion, thanks for the great product.
