Not enough help without discussing with an agent. I liked the old TurboTax, where the help documents were good; instead, they are always trying to steer you to an agent or talk to someone at TurboTax. I have been using this product for over 30 years.

The convoluted sign-on process required for payment to me was a great step back from previous years. If you do something like this, you require the sign-on process when you initiate the product not at the end. I hope this is not a permanent attribute of the desk-top version.

At the place where it might be possible to list donations to worthy causes, perhaps add another step. It would say...How much total did you donate? We'll see if that will make a difference in your total tax. If it does, then you can enter them, one by one. If it won't make a difference, then you can avoid that fairly tedious step.

Just because you put the power of an AI in the software doesn't make it think. Half the items I looked up were unanswered or they depend on the troll feedback in forums. I had to use the internet to find real answers. If your doing taxes do you really want to visit the internet and risk outside interference?

I have used TT for 20 years and this was the first tie that the software did not automatically update my 2024 numbers into the 5 year form. Also it stopped me on my final step and said I needed to update to latest version But there was no clear simple way to do it. I finally found it but in the past it was an option before proceeding.

I Downloaded the Utah State Tax. 1. State Tax information does NOT show on the, review return, print return, or save return areas. 2. The State Social Security Worksheet is incorrect. 1. the multiplier you use on line 7 is 0.045. On the Utah State web site worksheet, the multiplier is 0.0455. 2. Steps 10 and 11 are NOT included in your process. Step 10 has one multiply line 9 by 0.025 Step 11 has one subtract the amount on line 7 from the result on line 10. That result is then entered on the State tax form TC-40A Part 3 using code AH. That result is then entered on the TC-40 line 24.

This year felt a bit more confusing than last. The import option is fine, but it’s frustrating when everything seems to halt unless you scroll to the bottom of the page and click either ignore or continue—it’s a little disconcerting, if not outright confusing.

I imported Charles Schwab and Morgan Stanley information, and my Federal owed skyrocketed. Then later, it asked me to fill that information in manually. Then what I owed increased again! Did this income penalize me twice? How do I know that? Next year I will pay someone. I'm retired now, and this 14k tax owed is the largest of my life.

I have been using TT deluxe for like 25 years. This years interface was totally new and not all that friendly. I found myself going back to make sure I got everthing. On top of that almost every new section had another ad to upgrade to this or that. It seems like 20+ dialogs on one tax form to upgrade, until the very end and then they charged $25 to file state. I will consider a different product next year. I may still choose this but it has gotten totally away from what it used to be.

OVERALL IT'S WONDERFUL. HOWEVER, HERE ARE SOME POSSIBLE IMPROVEMENTS IMO. 1. DON'T REQUIRE US TO WAIT ON UPDATES EVERY TIME WE START THE PROGRAM. DO IT AT THE END RIGHT BEFORE WE FILE. 2. CARRY OVER THE INFORMATION AT THE END FOR BANK NUMBERS, DL'S, ETC. THAT LITTLE BIT OF INFORMATION IS A PAIN TO ROUND UP EVERY YEAR. THIS IS ESPECIALLY TRUE, WHEN YOU GET OLDER AND YOUR WALLET/CHECK BOOK IS UP OR DOWN THE STAIRS AND ITS THE SAME INFORMATION AS LAST YEAR. I STILL AM A BIT UPSET YOU COULDN'T ISSUE A WINDOWS 10 VERSION. I HAD TO BUY A NEW COMPUTER JUST FOR THIS BECAUSE OF WINDOWS 11. MEANWHILE I HAVE TWO WINDOWS 10 COMPUTERS THAT CAN'T BE UPGRADED BUT WORK PERFECTLY AND DID SO JUST LAST TAX YEAR. I'M $600 POORER JUST TO DO MY TAXES WITH NO NOTICABLE DIFFERENCE AND STILL USE THE SAME SECURITY SOFTWARE.
