[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Lifetime Products sent me this 5 Gal Ice Chest/Water Cooler to test out and write a review. To be honest I've been waiting for a cooler this size for a long time. We do a lot of kayak camping and have wanted a cooler that fit down inside of the cargo area of our Lifetime Yukon and Stealth Pro Kayaks we have without taking up all the room. We were using the Lifetime 28 QT cooler but it was a little big. This new 20 QT or 5Gal cooler is perfect. We packed it with 8 frozen water bottles, some drinks and lunch items for a three-day kayaking trip through Glen Canyon, Colorado river. Unfortunately, they closed the river due to wind so we spent our time hiking in the area and kayaking a little closer to home in 100°F heat. This cooler kept everything cold for two and a half days sitting in the back of my truck in direct sunlight most of the time. In the end there was still a little ice left in the once frozen water bottles. I also tried it out as a water cooler by putting 15Lbs of Crushed ice in it and filling it up with “Cold” water. Two days later there was still Ice and of course Ice Cold water! Unfortunately, my wife has laid claim to this cooler because it is sturdy, light, easy to move around and keeps things cool for extended periods of time. Now I'm going to have to go buy me another one. Pros: • Size • Light Weight • Rope Handels • Ice retention • Doesn't tip or slide in the truck or kayak • Doesn't leak or drip from the spigot • Cleanable spigot Cons: (Kind Of) • Have to release the latches to keep the water flowing good through the spigot because of the air tight seal. • Doesn't come with the drain cap to replace the spigot with when using it as a cooler (sold separately)

I love the design and the quality is fairly good the lid hinges seem a bit cheaply made but overall it’s pretty solid

Way to small

I bought this because my soft sided cooler died and I needed a replacement quickly. I thought the spout in the bottom would be a good attribute for the ball field, but it leaks like nobody's business. I will try to find a cap for it, but I'm not impressed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Right away you notice this cooler. We have a small business where people come to our home to pick up our product. I had the cooler set out and almost every customer asked me about it. This is a very sturdy cooler as well. my 4 year old used it as a stool and a chair. It works best like other coolers if you can precool it. By that I mean add you ice first and let it hang out a bit before added your cold water. This seemed to increase how much ice was left over in the cooler the next day. The only negative is the button spout. My fat fingers would have liked something not being pushed into a hole maybe a top mounted plunger would be better… but it was perfect for the kids and they had no problem using it. We love this water cooler with it's versatility and stackablity! I love that it matches our other lifetime cooler.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great Water Cooler for our active family! Great size for afternoon outs, day trips and even overnight outings. We also keep it in our van to easily refill everyone's water bottles on road trips and hikes. Our boys sports teams love having a place to refill their sports bottles as well. I like the flat top so my kids can have a clean, flat surface to put their water bottle lids when refilling. It's also really easy to open and close to refill. No more worrying about the lid falling into a dirty parking lot when adding ice on a road trip! The Spout doesn't leak! I don't have to worry about water leaking out in the car or onto the floor like other brands. I hope it holds up over time. I also like that you can pull the spout out to clean and you can also purchase an aftermarket drain plug if you want to convert the water cooler to an ice chest. One thing is I felt like the water flow slowed down a little as I filled large water bottles; but not so much that it was an issue. Ice was present in the cooler for 24 hours, even though I added very little ice to begin with. The water stayed colder than our fridge dispenser water for an additional 3 days! I am still undecided how I feel about the rope handles. I am used to the hard handle of my old cooler that I could put my arm through for a one arm carry. But the rope handles do allow for my older boys to carry it together. My husband has been eyeing the larger chest cooler and I think using this water cooler has encouraged him to take the lap and purchase it! I was given this water cooler in exchange for my honest review. We personally went on adventures to see how the cooler would do and hold up.

I don't like drinking cold water, so I can't speak to how well it does keeping water cold, but it is very convenient and the perfect size to have in the car with all my other camping gear. Five gallons is a great amount to make sure that myself and my friends all have our hiking packs filled with water. For food storage, I had ice and food In there for over 24 hours in 90° plus weather. Most of the ice remained frozen and my food stayed cold. This cooler did exactly what it's supposed to do and I'm pleased with the quality.

I got this water cooler a few weeks ago and boy is it awesome! Super easy to fill, very easy to carry, I love how long it keeps my water cold for. And to me inexpensive! If you are looking for a water cooler look no further! Buy a lifetime! It'll last a lifetime! It works flawlessly for kids sports that's where I've used it the most!

My little family of 3 has had this cooler for just over a week and we have found several uses for it already! We loaded it up with a picnic lunch and took it to a park the first day we had it. My husband loves how light it is and how easy it is to carry given its shape. It kept our food and drinks cold and even provided a seat for me after lunch. ;) We used the drink spout function at a soccer game and cleaned it out for some fresh water and ice- the kids were all able to fill up their canteens which was nice! Lastly, we toted it along to the beach using the screw on cap which prevents leaks… it kept our food from home cold for the 3 hour drive down and we took it out on the beach for lunch and snacks. Such a durable, well thought out product! I would definitely recommend this for outdoor lovers, sports enthusiasts, and families!
