I have been using this product for many years with good results. I apply with a broadcast spreader and the material is very easy to work with. It is completely dust free, so I know the material is getting on the lawn. My only concern is the price of the product as it has doubled from when I first started using it.

Scott products tend to cost more than the competition's, and definitely more so than "private label" products offered through farm products retailers. This said, even a homeowner like myself (i. e., not a horticulturalist or landscaper) can repeatedly get superior results with Scott's "Turf Builder". In fact, after using "Turf Builder" almost exclusively for the past fifteen years (I have tried a time or two to save a few dollars and go with a private label/bargain product, and/or to save a half hour or so and pay a "professional" lawn care company to spray my yard), I no longer even find the need to apply weed inhibitors or herbicides, as the turf is sufficiently healthy to choke out problem elements. Again, I'm a homeowner who scoots out during half-times and seventh-inning-stretches, applies "Turf Builder" to my KY Bluegrass yard (in Ohio), without necessarily applying under "ideal" conditions, and I still get excellent results by fertilizing four to five times per season. My yard always appears better than the surrounding neighbors, who try to rely on either budget products, or lawn care "professionals". I won't go on. Buy the stuff -- it works, and you do in fact get what you pay for, provided you're after a healthy, lush and green yard to begin with.

This is the second year I have been applying Scotts 4 step lawn products. I follow the directions and application intervals. My lawn still has crabgrass, weeds and brown spots. Retailers give different recommendations for the 4 step applications which complicates the application process.

I bought this last year to fix my back yard which I admit I did not treat or do properly but this year I added the food to my front lawn and omg my lawn is thicker and soooooo Green!! I fed it again the other day right before the rain. Now to work on my backyard

My lawn has become a spectacular showcase since using Scotts lawn products. My lawn has become the envy of the neighborhood. My neighbors ask me what is the secret in getting my lawn to look like yours. I tell them there is no secret, just use Scotts lawn products and in no time your lawn will becom a showcase just like mine. Currently I am using Scotts lawn fertilizer with 2% iron.

I put this product out again this year. I have used it for the past six years with excellent results, but it did not do anything that it was supposed to do. Clover, dandelions, and crabgrass are are stronger than ever. I don't think I'll be buying anymore of it.

We've used Scotts for over 20 years in every form. Fertilizers, insect, weed control. I am also a Master Gardener in our state and familiar about how to grow things. I use favorable practice to grow grass.... raise blades in summer, keep blades sharp, aerate, etc. The lawn just doesn't look as good. Lots of crabgrass, weeds where I am very careful about the application. I'll need to re-address areas again this fall as I do every fall. The cost of Scotts has increased significantly recently and comparing it with the results we receive, we need to use something else in the future.

I've been using Turfbuilder for the last 11 years. It greens up my lawn best in the spring and fall, but sometimes my lawn doesn't react to it in the summer months. I guess the heat is too much. So, my experience is temperature has as much to do with a deep green lawn as much as the lawn food. The good thing is it doesn't burn the lawn. That makes it a no-brainer to use. The Scotts customer service via email is excellent. Apply every 6 weeks and water deeply once a week, she says, and she sent me a $5 coupon! 'Nothing like free advice and money for nothing. Thank you, Scotts. P.S. I've had other lawn problems and applying the advice I got from Scotts solved the problems, every time.

I had been following the lawn care program recommended by a well known local radio show host. While the results were good, it proved to be quite expensive and the product was not sold in many stores. Scott’s is carried at most big box stores so I decided to give it a try. This spring we have used the crabgrass preventer (which we were a bit late in applying) and the weed and feed. There is a little bit of crabgrass coming up (which I attribute to the late application) soni pull it by hand, however, it is not the problem it has been in years past. As far as the dandelions, wild violets and clover, which were our biggest weed problem, they are almost eradicated from our lawn. Considering the heavy, record setting amount of rainfall we have had this spring, I could not be happier with the results and the price. Thank you Scott’s, you’ve gained a loyal customer.

I have used the Scott's program using 5 feedings annually since we built our house in 2005. You can definitely recognize our house by our lawn. Virtually weed free and emerald green. The Turf Builder line is the finest I have ever used. Thanks Scotts for making our home stand out.
