Good but with Kinks

unable to locate answers to issues without going through tons of history comments from "the community" It wastes so much time. Additionally electronic filing not working. Keep receiving errors. No way to resolve errors quickly is a pain. Tried all solutions still not working.

Turbo Tax has been amazing

This is Alexander's grandmother and I do his taxes for/with him. I have used Turbo Tax for years. I am both familiar with it and quite comfortable with it. I have faith that with correct information input that there will not be a problem. I find it reliable and relatively easy to use. They offer great support and make it easy to get questions answered.

Online vs Desktop & K1/K3 Issues

I tried on-line turbo tax this year and will not try again. I went back to desktop to finish. Several Reasons: 1) I do my daughter's taxes too, and I could not set up two files on-line 2) I have a K1/K3 in my taxes and could not get the on-line to clear an error without access to the forms. I can only access the forms with the desktop software. In addition, the K1/K3 entry is poor on both versions. I enter all the information asked for, yet still have missing entry information in the error check step that can only be answered in the form mode. This has happened every year. The software should ask you for the information if it is needed during the data entry phase.

Disappointing e-file experience- Never again!

The system does not understand that I can be single for Federal Tax but married RDP for CA and therefore rejects both because of the discrepancy of filing status. This is even with constant updates through 4/2/2026. I paid $25 to e-file CA, and AFTER paying, I am told you cannot e-file.

Unable to import - no help when needed

I was unable to import anything. I kept coming to the screen about a popup. You didn't give any help on this to tell me what to do. Then when I was entering the information I got an error. You didn't give any help on this. I had to go to ChatGPT to find out the aborted import created blank files I needed to delete. You let us chose specific forms for printing but then print everything. This has happened for years. I keep notes on how to proceed on turbotax but then you change everything each year. And after leaving this page to check the spelling of a word when I came back everything was gone.

Entering a 1031 Exchange is very difficult

I made a 1031 (like-kind property) Exchange last year. Filing requires a Form 8824 that's available but its Step-by-Step is hidden and there's little help. AI said to Search for "like kind" to find and use Step-by-Step. You need to create the replacement Sch E property. You must study applicable Fed Form instructions to understand given up and replacement property prices, fees, basis, and depreciation. Use Step-by-Step to answer questions and enter correct values. More detailed guidance is needed. After completing the exchange interview, switch to Forms view to verify that the Form 8824, 4797, Sch E, and depreciations are correct for both properties. I spent hours learning and trying different choices and values to get an error-free 8824 and correct forms. I called several "Connect with an expert" most couldn't help. I finally reached an enrolled agent with years of experience. We spent 5 hours figuring out how to answer the questionnaire. Later, I found the replacement property's basis was wrong resulting in a serious error in depreciation.

I have used Turbo Tax for many years

The importing of documents has improved over the years; but is still not seamless. While going through the federal form, at times it was a bi confusing. It neve gave me a statement saying "based on your deductions it would be best to take the standard deduction. This used to happen in the normal entering of data, and now it did not, so I had to go back into the forms and see what Turbo Tax did for deductions. Then I had to look up outside of TurboTax the standard deduction available for me to see if Turbo Tax had used the standard deduction. Very clumsy. Past versions seemed to work better for this and give more commentary through out the process. The deduction is the example I remember; but in general it seemed like it was giving me less commentary along the way, then past years.

You are asking for frustrated customers

I like your app and have used it for years but this year, when going to file t I had to enter my name and address 3 different times! How frustrating since you already know my name and address!! How about entering it and letting me change it if needed? Same with bank codes and accounts. How about I enter it once and then confirm it?

Needs Polish

Annoyances: * Can't paste numbers with leading or trailing spaces - the app should strip them instead of complaining that "you must enter e number" * I receive a shareholder K-1. After saying yes to have that or other forms. Premier tried to start adding a Schedule C for a small business. * Had to go through billing twice, first to add a state then to pay for e-file. This should be done together, and it should offer to fill in billing info from my home address.

TURBO TAX CUSTOMER SERVICE

Not Satisfactory because it rejects my attempts to efile and gives no advice as to where I can talk to someone. This is the second year in a row this has happened to me. I am finished with Turbotax if this is the type service you are going to provide!!
