still a few kinks

85 % of support was helpful, all agents were very courteous and understanding. I thought the first agent I spoke with should have known how to import 24 returns after I forgot to enter them before starting on 25 returns. Wasted about 4-5 hrs trying through various channels until I asked Gemini. Gemini gave me the answer and took a few minutes to enter 24 returns, Evan after I started 25 returns. Was never able to contact professional help after Paid the $60 fee. I needed help with a trust KI schedule. I would like a g\credit of the $60

Avoid purchasing it .

I have been using this software for many years. each year it becomes more painful to navigate if I want to go back to something I might have missed. I do not know who sits there and approves the changes to the software each year. Does the company ask the users of people sit in offices and dream up of changes with no regard to their impact on users?

Overall Easy to Use, Upgrade was a Waste Though

I would generally give Turbo Tax a 4 or even 5 star rating, but this year, while completing our taxes, it suggested we upgrade to Premier due to our capital gains and losses. We spent the $35 to upgrade to only have the software not prompt us to complete the required form - we had to research and find (within the forms list) on our own. The upgrade was a waste of money.

TurboTax is getting harder to use

TurboTax has become noticeably more difficult to use over time. The explanations provided through its help links are often convoluted and unclear, making it unnecessarily hard and time-consuming to complete my taxes. Multiple times I had to rely on external tools like ChatGPT or Gemini to get straightforward answers—and those tools consistently delivered clearer and more useful explanations. It's frustrating that Intuit appears more focused on promoting additional paid support services than on improving the core usability of the product. Users should not need outside resources to complete a tax return with confidence. Intuit should prioritize simplifying the interface and providing clear, accessible explanations within the software itself.

Meh

This product has seriously declined in quality in recent years. The online version is more expensive and lacks the form view. Additionally, it will skip parts relevant to my return, forcing me to hunt them down (at least the help system is good). The continual selling of add-ons and paid help is obnoxious.

Turbotax 2025 Review

Turbotax works really well, however for the firs time there was a bug with the capital sales worksheet. I got in a loop on one question and it would not move on. I had to research the problem online and finally found a solution and had to fix the problem myself in the forms. It took quite a while to figure this out. This is the first time I have had this type of problem with Turbotax. Otherwise it is quite a useful piece of software.

problem with K-3

I have used Turbo Tax for years. There is a glitch in the software for 2025 in the handling of the K-3 reporting. Where interest is allocated and reported as US the system should subtract US from the total and show the difference. In my case, zero foreign interest. The system does not do this calculation and there seeks foreign income to offset US expense and creates an error message through out. Otherwise a great product.

TurboTax is easy to use.

I have been using TurboTax for years. I am confident that my returns are correct. My returns include W2, 1099R, Social Security, Interest Income, Rental Income, and Royalty income. It is very easy to use for income and deductions. I would recommend TurboTax to anyone and save the cost of going to a CPA.

Accurate, saves time... when the software works

I've been quite happy with TurboTax for many years (the ability to download complex financial information is its greatest advantage) and I certainly trust the final result. But with the amount of time it took to work around software problems, I'll do some research before purchasing it next year. Of the very few, relevant community forum suggestions, only re-installing and re-registering the software (Premier for Mac) worked, but this had to be done each time I quit and came back to add more data. However, my returns are filed, and next year's TurboTax may again be trouble-free.

Entering a 1031 Exchange is very difficult

I made a 1031 (like-kind property) Exchange last year. Filing requires a Form 8824 that's available but its Step-by-Step is hidden and there's little help. AI said to Search for "like kind" to find and use Step-by-Step. You need to create the replacement Sch E property. You must study applicable Fed Form instructions to understand given up and replacement property prices, fees, basis, and depreciation. Use Step-by-Step to answer questions and enter correct values. More detailed guidance is needed. After completing the exchange interview, switch to Forms view to verify that the Form 8824, 4797, Sch E, and depreciations are correct for both properties. I spent hours learning and trying different choices and values to get an error-free 8824 and correct forms. I called several "Connect with an expert" most couldn't help. I finally reached an enrolled agent with years of experience. We spent 5 hours figuring out how to answer the questionnaire. Later, I found the replacement property's basis was wrong resulting in a serious error in depreciation.
