Turbotax saves us money when compared to other methods for filing our taxes, and we are learning new things each year from using the product. Even though the tax code changes all the time, the TurboTax interface is familiar and we don't have worry about its accuracy. When necessary, the support people are friendly and knowledgeable. We are able to load the same product on our Mac OS and Windows platforms. New features show up year which makes things easier.

I have been using this product for years. I like the fact that it guides you through the current year reminding you of previous data. Not sure I like the current interface. I hate the fact that Its Deductible is gone. Need to let me e-file 1 state tax as well.

My return actually went smoothly this year with very little frustration with TurboTax for once. Mostly because I've learned what to watch out for. My only disappointment is that they changed the charitable donation form for donated goods. You have to enter a search query for every item donated instead of there being a nice list where you can enter the quanties. e.g. (4) pair of women's dress pants and it would keep a running total of all of the donations and give you a total value. I had to write the values all down on my list, then add it myself. I will be honest, I still feel like I can't trust TT based on previous experiences, but it seemed to go well this year.

Great tool for filing taxes, but the app crashes or gets stuck in a transmission state when errors occur. I had to search online to figure out the problem. Additionally, my tax returns should be accessible on the website. I can't find my returns from the desktop version when I log in with the same credentials.

This was my first year using the desktop version instead of the online. I found the UI to be clunky and often glitchy in responding (often had to click twice to move to next screen). It was also very disappointing that I wasn't able to upload a PDF for the program to process. I had closed an account last year so the only copy I had of my forms was physical and I had input all the information manually. It also makes you reduntantly click to move on to modules instead of just seamlessly moving to the next topic to evaluate.

Like past year is TurboTax is a necessary evil. User interface is very 1995 and the questions are not clear at times, especially for things like partnerships. I would give the offer for a C rating. I can only hope someone comes up with a better product in the future so I don't have to keep buying this every year.

Turbotax has gone downhill this year. It lags without showing its even running, I have to run it in admin mode and it keeps asking me to pay again for things I've already paid for. I'm very much contemplating switching next year after being I believe a 15+ year customer. Unfortunately, thumbs down this year. I hear that I'm not the only one. I suggest that you issue a public apology and explain why you will do better next year. It's that bad.

IT GETS WORSE EVERY YEAR... ONLY REASON I USE IT IS I THINK IT WILL IMPROVE, AND YOU NEVER KNOW UNTIL YOU'VE SPENT YOUR MONEY AND ARE INTO THE 2ND PAGE.WWWRRROOONNNG AGAIN . THIS YEAR'S WAS THE WORST YET. THANK GOODNESS FOR CHAT WHO EXPLAINED WHAT I WAS SUPPOSED TO DO!! IT USED TO BE SO EASY YEARS AGO. WHAT HAPPENED? I AM GOING TO JUST GVE IT TO A TAX MAN OR WOMAN EVEN THOUGH I DO NOT MIND DOING IT MYSELF IF I HAVE THE OLD PROGRAM FROM 8 YEARS AGO, SIMPLE AND ALL YOU HAD TO DO WAS EDIT THE LAST YEARS RETURN ENTRIES WHICH WERE LISTED AND POPULATED AND ANSWER A FEW QUESTIONS!!! IT JUST GETS WORSE AND MORE CONFUSING EVERY YEAR.

The process went well until I was ready to file and hit a snag that should have been fixed by now. I have a 1099-R from the OPM. When going through the review, I'm told I have to enter the State Distribution (box 16a) in Turbotax. The CSA-1099-R from OPM does not have a box 16a. Your tax software is so complete that I can prepare my federal and NC returns accurately within just 2 hours. I have been using TurboTax for at least 35 years and I can confidently say that I could not do my own tax returns at all without TurboTax.
