I purchased three of these shelves last year to begin organizing my basement. They worked so well I ordered three more this year to finish. Outstanding quality at a low price. I priced them elsewhere and other outlets had the same brand with only 5 shelves---this has six, and you had to pay extra for the plastic sheets that go on top of each shelf--essential if you are storing smaller items and included in this package. If you have any trouble assembling do what I did---ask your wife to help. It sure worked for me.

Very sturdy and well built, i was amazed by how much it held and how quickly it organized so many things for me. The wheel are great if you need to paint the wall behind it or move it for any other reason. The only thing I thought might have been a tiny bit better was the instructions on the little black sleeves that go around the poles. The instructions say it will "snap" togeather. Well, sort of but if your like me and keep waiting for a "click" noise you probably won't. But they are great shelves, buy with confidence!

You can go buy a plastic shelf at other stores for $49-$69 which can hold a couple hundred pounds. This thing can hold 800 pounds with the wheels installed or 6,000 pounds, that 3 TONS, without the wheels. I couldn't make a set of shelves out of wood, that could hold that much for under $100!

I needed something study but movable for all my craft supplies. The large casters more easily on my carpeting but can be locked in place. The solid shelf liners are excellent to keep smaller objects from either getting caught on the wiring or dropping through. I am a 78 year old female but I was able to assemble it without any help from others.

I purchased this yesterday and today laid out all the pieces as directed. In doing so, found one of the bottom posts was defective in that the threaded insert had been installed in the wrong end and the wheel insert was the incorrect thickness on the other end. We tried to figure out how to make it work if we skipped the double line on the 3 good posts, but they did not line up so the shelves would not be level. I called the number on the back of the instructions and was on hold for 20 minutes and then got auto disconnected. I then called my local store and explained the situation and asked if i could just bring back the defective piece and have someone open another box and give me a good post and return the package by adding the defective piece. She said no, I could bring the whole unit back for refund and purchase another one. She said I might try main Customer Service number for Sam's and so I called them. When I finally got through to a real person, they suggested I call the Members Mark Customer Service No. so I did that. A 30 minute hold until I got a real person. This CSR said they could order me the replacement part through the mfr but it would be 10 to 15 days. I remind you that I have methodically unpacked every component and it is strewn on my garage floor. The other option was to return the entire system and exchange for another unit. He gave me a reference no to do that. I told him I am 75 years old and I would have to load up the individual pieces, (the shelves are very heavy) and then would I have to unload when I got to my store and he said yes. This return system is totally unacceptable. A mfr should expedite shipping of a defective component and Sams should make that part of the Purchasing Agreement they have with a mfr. Rather than take a chance on exchanging a unit and finding another defective or missing component(s), I decided to pick up another unit, bring it home, open the box in the back of my car and get out the post to replace the defective one and then return that system, still in the original packaging, for a refund. At least while still in the box, I could take my neighbor, who would help me lift the 120lb box out of my suv onto a flat cart. I won't be buying anything requiring assembly from Sams again.

We use these shelf units to store conservation-grade boxes of historic textiles. The shelves are easy to assemble, strong and sturdy, and the casters are high quality. The units hold considerable weight (textiles can be VERY heavy) and can be moved easily by one person. We have searched extensively and found that, for both quality and price, these units are the best buy on the market ...And that's important for a non-profit institution with a tight budget. Highly recommended.

Make sure you check each shelf carefully before attempting to put this together. Three of the 6 shelves had defects- instead of 4 ROUND openings to slide the shelf onto the poles, at least one opening was OVAL vs. ROUND shaped, which made it very difficult to get the shelf to sit level on the poles. I struggled with two of the lesser deformed of the 3 shelves and with the help of a rubber mallet, got them to stay put and level. However, the last shelf had such a deformed oval-shaped opening that it wouldn't sit properly on the poles at all. I contacted Sam's and they worked with me to give me a partial refund so I wouldn't have to return the 100 lb thing!

Mostly happy with the shelving, but the threads where stripped/defective on two of the upper pole sections and it looks like the manufacturer is out of replacement poles. Structurally, the shelves are stable and strong, so I can still make use of the lower section using 3 shelves instead of the full set of 5 shelves.

I needed shelves to organize my storage room, so I purchased two sets and they worked perfectly. I didn't use the casters because I was putting them on carpet. I had no problem putting the shelves together other than measuring to be sure all the shelves were even on both sets. Since I didn't have a rubber mallet, I improvised by using a regular hammer and an oven mitt. Worked just fine!

This set contains the racks, plastic inserts for the racks, and a choice of rollers or feet for the base, It is the best deal that I could find for this kind of wire rack. I actually did not need the high weight capacity of these racks but they were less expensive than buying lighter duty racks (+ rollers). These racks roll smoothly and are very stable. No issues in assembly.
