My husband and I were doing some renovations/diys around the house and we needed a stud finder for a few of the projects and we lucked in to getting this one and it worked perfectly. The magnets are very strong and the stud finder itself is very heavy duty.

I enjoy hanging super heavy artwork and framed mirrors, which require deeper anchoring. Until now, I wasn’t able to hang some of them due to their weight. It makes me cringe to damage drywall, especially in a brand new home. This StudBuddy found the studs behind the drywall with little effort. Just follow the illustration on the back of the package. I also love the two built-in levels (horizontal and vertical). The stud finder is lightweight and easy to grasp while searching. Best of all, this little device attaches itself to the wall when it finds a stud (wood or metal). It requires no batteries because it works via magnetic field. So, be sure to read the warning on the back of the package regarding keeping the device away from credit cards and electronics. Anyway, to my relief, I knew once I’d driven the first nail into the wall, it had accurately located the studs. This product is a much-needed staple to my tool collection. For anyone needing a superior stud finder, I would highly recommend the StudBuddy. You won’t be disappointed.

It's not the electronic kind that beeps or has a screen but it does stick to the wall when it finds a nail in a stud - so it does it's job! And since you dont have to worry about replacing batteries, it should last forever.
