[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Studbuddy This tool is amazing. My husband took it over when we got home. He didn't believe it would work as well as the package exclaimed.. So he went around the house testing it out and it DOES work, exceptionally well. He was surprised. Not only can it detect the studs, you can also use it as a level. While it does not detect the "wood" from the stud, it does detect the nails. At least that's how we think it works. It has really strong magnets and will stick to anything metal. A huge plus when trying to find somewhere to hang a very large and heavy shelf or picture. It will stick to the wall which makes it very easy to mark where you need to. Apparently it doesn't take a battery either which is cost saving. All in all we are very pleased to have received this product. Hope this helps.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The StudBuddy plus magnetic stud finder is also a level it has a soft grip which glides easy without leaving any marks on your walls and it dosent require batteries which makes it easier that i dont get a false reading, this words on newer walls made with sheet rock and will not work on plaster walls .the StudBuddy plus magnetic stud finder and leveler is geat for hanging pictures also and shelves and TVs on the wall i used mine to level my big tv on the wall it als has the measurements on both sides in inches and cm for easily marking your measurements on the wall

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At first glance, The Stud Buddy Plus looks like a handy tool to have in your tool box. I like that it features a ruler, a level and requires no batteries. Its also a nice size, fits comfortably in your hand, making it easy to move over the walls. Another plus is the powerful magnet. However, as far as finding studs, I tried it on several walls throughout my home and it came up short. It found the metal corners easily but as far as the studs, I wasn't sure if I was hitting a nail/ screw. I found it easier to use my hand to knock on the walls to find the stud. Also, the levels on the one I received were not calibrated. The idea behind the Stud Buddy Plus sounds good but in the end it did not fully deliver results

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The StudBuddy Plus can be a very useful tool for multiple uses around the home and even in some trade situations. There are two level bubbles. One for horizontal leveling and one for vertical leveling. On the edges, there are rulers. Inches on one side and metrics on the other side. The instructions tell you to scan the wall from side to side to find studs. That sounds great, but that's not the way it really works. You can't find wooden studs with this stud finder. You can only find nails or screws that are in the studs, using the magnets on the StudBuddy. If used to find metal studs, it should work as advertised. While the packaging says The StudBuddy Plus works with all drywall construction, in theory, it should work with wood panels or other types of wall board. So long as their are metallic nails or screws in those types of wall board.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The StudBuddy Plus can be very helpful providing you have walls constructed in your home or business in a manner where it will work for you. It really seems to work very well provided that the drywall is installed with conventional drywall nails or screws but if it were installed with wire brads such as are often used in manufactured or mobile homes, it becomes more difficult to use. The brads are so small that even with the strong magnet in the tool it can not stick to the wall. You can however find the brads as there is some resistance felt when you cross over them with the tool. If the wall is constructed with metal studs, the tool will stick to the wall at the metal stud without even needing to find a screw. It comes with both a vertical and a horzontal level along with a 6" measure on one side and a 152 mm measure on the other. It also has two felt pads, one on each end, on the rear side that slides over the wall to help protect the wall from scratches. As stated before the tool has a strong magnet inside that finds the nails, screws, and even the metal studs but it also seems to find any other metal tool it gets close to. The best part about this tool is that NO BATTERIES are ever required and there is nothing to wear out. I will say I was skeptical about how well such a simple tool would work but after using it I am impressed.

This gem is going to be my best friend when it comes time to locate a much-needed stud due to the weight of what I'm hanging. This stud finder is very easy to use and it works really well. The instructions for this stud finder are very simple and easy to understand. This stud finder works based on the magnetic field created by the nails/screws in the studs. So, there aren’t any batteries to deal with. You simply glide the stud finder against the wall within a 24-inch radius and feel for a magnetic field. Once you find a stud the StudBuddy will stick to the wall where the stud is, and that it. The StudBudy has small felt pads on the bottom, so it easily slides against the wall without scratching it. It works really well on drywall walls. Some places the stud finder sticks easier than others. The stud finder also has a handy level on it to make hanging things easier. It also has measurements on both sides. I really like how effortless it is to use. All in all, this stud finder is really great. This stud finder is very easy to use, it works well, and it has a built-in level. For this reason, I stated decorating and hanging a few things on my wall. I’m not the best hanging things on the wall or making sure things are straight, so I decided to use this stud finder. Overall, this stud finder works very good! The grip is great and I really like that it hangs on the wall because it is magnetic, which is a fantastic visual help. I also like that this doesn’t need any batteries or changing. This would come handy for someone who needs to hang shelves, cabinets, paintings, TV’s, lamps, etc. It is important to note that this is to be used on a drywall, so if you have plaster walls it might not work as well. If you are multifunctional, I noticed that this doesn’t only work as a great stud finder, but also making sure that other projects or decor in the house are straight. For example, I recently tried to build my own DIY table, and this worked great and showing which pieces were straight and which needed extra work. Overall, this is a great multifunctional tool.

Simply move the StudBuddy along the wall as instructed and let it do the rest. You'll know when you find the stud as there is a definite pull and stop from the magnets finding the nails. The levelers are great for making sure you get straight lines when hanging any hardware, televisions, cabinets, pictures, and a whole lot more. There are standard American and metric measuring rulers located along the two long sides of the StudBuddy. This is a great and handy gadget to have around.
