Works Well and Quickly

"Fast acting" is the best description of Imodium, in any form. Plus, if not disease-related, one dose tends to do the job, so it's economical. If one or two doses don't do the trick then you'd best get to the doctor because something serious may be going on.

Double Edge Sword

I hate to leave a 3 star rating because the product does work. With that being said, for me, it works too well & halts all bowel activity to the point I’m seeking relief to a problem on the opposite end of the spectrum. I’m unsure what or why that happens to me but product does work and would definitely aid in an extreme loss of fluids

Imodium A-D Softgels

Imodium A-D Anti-Diarrheal Softgels are great for when you just can't stay home. For me, I have to take the first dose and then the second in order for it to work. But it works and at least I'm not in the bathroom all day! I've tried other products and have had to take the max daily dose and still have no relief. I highly recommend A-D Anti-Diarrheal Softgels for occasional and not so occasional diarrhea. I keep them at home and in my locker at work.

Excellent product, but....

It works reliably, but the package is designed to obstruct access. Need a very sharp knife or scissors to release the soft gel. Are they so dangerous that they are in effect in a vault? Wish they were loose in a bottle. Aged fingers have a hard time! Use often due to medication side effect—3 times/week usually.

Terrible packaging & directions should be in bold

Did you ever try to open up an Imodium packet? When you’re not feeling well and you’re on the toilet bowl that’s happened to me today and then my husband tried to help me and he uses a knife to try to open it and then like we’re decision to try to open it and I’m still having a hard time opening it, and the directions are so far down on the back of the box on the bottom that by the time you finish reading the all the other nonsense you’re sick again you need to make explicit directions.

Love product, but dislike packaging.

I use Imodium a lot. It always helps me. It takes forever to open the package. Why don’t you sell it in a bottle? I looked at past reviews and this has been a problem for your years and you don’t seem to listen to your customers. I might have to purchase a different brand that is easier to open.

Please accept our sincere apology for the inconvenience and frustration you have experienced with the packaging of the IMODIUM® caplets. In September 2019, the FDA announced a decision to limit loperamide containing medicines, including IMODIUM®, to 48 milligrams (or a 24-count pack size) to help address the misuse and abuse of loperamide while preserving access to an essential, over-the-counter remedy for diarrhea sufferers. In addition, the FDA has also required that the caplets be packaged in individual doses. We invite you to visit the following link to learn more details about this change: https://www.fda.gov/drugs/drug-safety-and-availability/fda-limits-packaging-anti-diarrhea-medicine-loperamide-imodium-encourage-safe-use. As a possible alternative, you may consider trying the Imodium® A-D Oral Solution. This is a mint-flavored liquid that comes in a bottle. We encourage you to discuss this with your doctor.

Terrible packaging

I love Imodium for my bowel issues but your packaging for the siftgels and caplets is terrible. Why isn't it available in bottles as it used to be? Those bluster packs are horrible. The one with the supposed slit to "tear here" can only be done with a scissors because the solution is almost non existent. Now where am I going to get scissors when I am out socializing or shopping. The other type where you have "bend back" the indicated corner? The corner often tears comes completely off and you are left needing a scissors again. Maybe you should read reviews on this packaging on various websites. This is more than a common complaint. The majority of people who use your product gave the same complaint. Wise up, people before you start to lose more customers. Put the pills in a recyclable bottle.

Buy the tiny solid pill form instead

Imodium (loperamine) is the best product for controlling diarrhea but buy it in the tablet for that comes loose in a bottle. The tiny tablet is easier to swallow than the big rubbery gelcap and contains the same amount of the actual drug. And you don't have to use tools to extricate each gelcap from its hard-to-open sealed pocket. Putting this tiny drug into a big gelcap is just a marketing ploy; individually packaging gelcaps on cards in an unnecessary box may attract more attention on the sales shelf, and the naive consumer may think she is getting more for her money. Further, gelcaps will melt in a hot car and hog space if you carry basic meds and vitamins with you or use a container with a pocket for each of the seven days of the week. Generally a bad idea based on greed.

This product has not worked for me. I've used caplets before and they have worked well but the sof-gels do nothing for me

What concerns the most is the lack of dosage and frequency of use on the container. If that information is on there the font is so tiny that even with reading glasses I could not see it. My wife got me a pack of Depends on Tuesday (18 in a pack) and she just went back to the store for another pack. Hereafter I'll never get sof-gels again I do trust the caplet to work in one dose. Packing is an important point that you must work on. Many elderly folks rely on this product (me included) for occasional use. Can I take to many? Can I take them too close together? I'm very disappointed.

The product is Great

The product is great and works most every time. I start with 2, if within a half hour if symptoms still exist, I take 1 more and that does the trick. The issue I have with product is the packaging. If one is sick and weak with no scissors around I embarrassingly admit I use my teeth. There’s got to be a better way.
