I used this on many different varieties of plants directly in the ground. This is at my friends memorial site where there is alot of trees and it is by the road. The ground is very rooted and sand and dry. I planted my plants adding this to all of the holes along with covering my plants with it. It is easy to work with as it covers well. The plants love it with all the good nutrients and such in the soil. My plants are thriving now because of this soil! Defiantly recommend

This is processed garbage. I put some marigolds in it yesterday, left the bag with leftover soil out in the yard, this morning the plants were all torn out of their beds and the bag was attacked, apparent raccoon damage. Something in this product attracts raccoons.

This stuff is crap. Full of plastic and glass shards, and shreds of what looks like plastic bags and or tarp material. Every time I water, I spend time picking out pieces of garbage. Don't waste your money! The only reason I gave 1 star is because there is no option for 0 stars.

I bought Miracle-Gro Garden Soil All-Purpose based on brand recognition. The soil looks ok (who really knows without testing), and the balance with mulch seems appropriate. On closer examination, it is easy to find shreds of plastic that may have once been plastic bags, as well as small chips of hard plastic. Is Miracle-Gro mixing plastic waste into the soil? The soil is already blended into the garden, and I've decided not to take it out, at least not this season. Nonetheless, I'm not happy about having plastic scraps in the garden and would to buy this soil again.

I find it is a quick and easy way to add nutrients back into the soil that the plants use up. This way I have a good harvest every year. The directions are easy to follow (trust me, read them, because there is more to it than just dumping dirt on top). They also provide a chart to figure out exactly how many bags are needed for different areas/sizes. This is great so I don't buy too many and have to store extra until the next year or have to go back to the store to buy more if I don't get enough. Once a garden is established though, you pretty much know what is needed year-to-year, but for beginners or when expanding, the chart is a great tool. I also like their commitment to sustainability. I may find a stick here and there mixed in with the dirt, but I feel better knowing materials are getting reused and it is better for the environment.
