Turbo Tax Failure

I have used Turbo Tax Desktop on MAC for at least 13 years. This year's version is the one of the worst experiences I've ever had with software in my life. I tried paying the $25 fee for filing Arizona online and the program failed at that point. I did get great help from the support number, but we were still not able to resolve the issue and I had to end up paying the additional $40 fee for having it deducted from my return. I may try the free web version next year, but will never pay to use Turbo Tax again.

ESTIMATED TAX CALCULATION FLAW

In 2025, I paid approximately $37K in estimated taxes in quarterly installments, plus another $20+ in pension and IRA withholding. The Federal refund of overpayment, because of the increased standard deduction was $8.8K. Your software which prepared the tax return for 2025 did not show any estimated taxes due, even though nothing is expected to have changed. No vouchers were produced, even though I will probably still have to pay about $8.5K quarterly. This is a serious flaw in that some may think they do not have to pay any estimated tax for h current tax year, This will obviously result in a major interest penalty. If you need to discuss further, please contact me.

Fair

I may be older than 65 but I hate the SR form. There is no option to avoid it. I want to enter dollars AND CENTS and not have my entries rounded. There is no option to allow that. I don't give a hoot what the IRS wants; this is for my record. The interface stinks. Huge "continue" buttons with microscopic option selections. No way to avoid "worksheets" and just put data where I want it. Printing insists on wasting paper on stuff that doesn't get filed. But I won't file your printouts because you suppress cents.

Win 11 or TurboTax

I've used TurboTax for years with my Windows 10 PC. I liked that I could activate the license and do my taxes within my User account. I was required to buy a Windows 11 PC and was really disappointed that I could only do my taxes in the Administrator account. I know that may be all Microsoft but if there is any way in the feature to write your code so that I can do my taxes in my protected User account, it would be great! I can tell you that I take computer security seriously.

Disappointed with Lack of Candor

I like the system and have used it for my own returns for several years. This is the first year I have filed electronically. I DID NOT appreciate the fact that you told me it was free to file to file electronically and then later, after I was in the process, you told me I had to pay $25 to file my state return electronically. That was devious and I do not appreciate your lack of candor.

Turbo Tax Should Be Better

Felt much harder to navigate then previous years. Felt frustrating having to go back and forth when entering dividends and interest for accounts that should have showed up automatically. To many new questions about the previous 1099s that were confusing , and didn't use to be there. Finally at the end when I entered my credit card for efile, it wouldn't accept the correct month mine expired. It would only accept numbers up to 8 and not beyond. Finally had another card with a lower expiration month. Then all went through. VERY FRUSTRATING!

Buggy, obnoxious upselling, will never use again.

The product is buggy and the amount of upselling is obnoxious. The first time I attempted to do my taxes I got to the end and the program crashed without saving everything. I had to do my taxes entirely over again. Half of the 1099 div/int forms I tried to use didn't work. At every opportunity Turbotax trys to funnel you into spending more money. When you say no, it wastes your time asking why you said no. I will never use turbotax again.

TT Too many steps to verify my id

To transfer 2024 info to 2025, you might tell us to update 2024, open and save the return, and relaunch 2025. Very frustrating when 2024 is dropped into place and it is rejected. UPDATE: after 2 successful returns, the 3rd revealed a BUG in the program, which I solved while on the phone with TT support. The SAVE command caused the program to crash. The SAVE without password worked but still there's a bug for those that prefer password protection.

confising e-file comment

It said my return was not complete when i tried to do the e-file. i could not find what it was talking about. I juct finally hit continue and it asked several questions. such as i needed to sign it, etc. I answered the questions and it lit me e-file. The comment the return was not finished was confusing. it also wanted to e-file a wa state tax return. WA state does not require tax returns. No income tax.

Turbo Tax Compatibility on personal computer

Very disappointed with Compatibility to your own product. I have previous tax returns on my computer and for the past several years, I have had nothing but problems trying to transfer tax information from one year to the other. I wasn't like that in the past. You are constantly pushing to do taxes on line. I simply do not trust that the tax information can be protected. If they get into my compute, they get one tax return, but if they get into your system, they get millions of tax returns.
