It's Deductible! has been incredibly helpful for many years. It's a shame you chose to discontinue its availability. And it really doesn't make much sense - the values are still available on your system. You now make your user create their own spreadsheet to support their deduction. This is going backwards, TurboTax!

TurboTax is generally very good, but it has a significant weakness for people like me who are retired and living off our investments. My returns for tax years 2023, 2024, and 2025 all had problems related to using the "annualized installment method" for calculating whether I had paid my estimated taxes correctly or not. All three years, Turbotax calculated that I owed a significant penalty for underpayment of taxes, and gave me *no warning* that it had put that penalty onto my 1040 form. If the software had warned me that it was adding a penalty, and suggested that I should go through the TT process for assessing underpayment penalties, I wouldn't have had to file amended returns after discovering the problem. Furthermore, in tax year 2024, TT didn't fill out the Colorado estimated tax payment form (form 204) correctly, which led to Colorado penalizing me, and me having to go through an appeal process.

I use Desktop and have for 7 years. I like being able to download and do not use a CPA anymore. My income is all from a single source (Fidelity [Retirement] Investments) is easily downloadable and Turbo Tax handles the rest. I had my first problem this year a missing update prevented e-file transmission of my returns. Could not get the transmission through, get help from Turbo Tax or any other source. I finally completely Force Quit all programs except Tax which WOULD NOT shut down. I finally withdrew power and closed down the computer and restarted. This was the solution. When I turned the computer back on, opened TTax it updated and then transmitted my returns as it should have. TOO MUCH TROUBLE and Very FRUSTRATING for me.

The software itself is fine, but given how Big Tax (i.e. TurboTax/Intuit) is the reason why taxes are so difficult to begin with, I can't give it higher than a 3. They waited until the very end of the free file I worked on to tell me I made too much in interest then made me get the Deluxe, which doesn't even include state! It's beyond absurd. Even so, I used to be able to print the state return and mail it, but now they won't even let me print the return. Stop being so greedy and at a very, very minimum, include state filing in the already too high price of ~$60.

I am a longtime user of TurboTax, and I think the wording used to interact with the customer, me, is less clear every year. I think that it is time for me to consider other software and human tax preparers. I will discuss with family and friends about how they have their tax forms completed.

I had numerous problems with using your tax program. When i download it on my main computer it worked for one day and then went to error code. I was able to download it on my laptop which has windows 11 just like my main computer and it worked just fine. This a problem because I talked to other people who had the same problem. You need to get your act together. It also destroyed the last three years of my taxes on my main computer.

Pretty much as usual, decent interface but some topics still too opaque and confusing. I think for somewhat more involved situations, using TurboTax requires some deeper knowledge of tax policies. Prefer to keep the work on my computer but needed to buy a new MacBook to accommodate 2026 TurboTax. Seems to provide high accuracy. Interface better than many software products but I haven't used any other tax prep software. Better than filing directly with Illinois return, so worth the $20 fee for TT to file.

My goto Tool for doing taxes for the whole family for more than a decade. Two grown kids, a brother in law, and my joint return, every year. Thorough step by step walkthrough, but I like to go down the rabbit hole, so switch to Forms view quite often. I've used H&R Block as well, and it's fine, but TurboTax is the one for me.

Everything was fine, not sure where it showed up but it was asking me for Canadian income and I never said I had any. and another was the interest on an account. I never received a 1099-int form but wanted me to continue filling one out. After a few attempts, I was able to bypass both issues. I'm only mentioning this because i never seem to have ran into this before. Update: I really had quite a time with some things, a lot of little quirks. Someone really needs to check the software again. I went to do my state and it told me I was done. I couldn't get into the state until i came out of the program and then back in again.

Every year filling out the tax returns is always a dreaded experience where I seem to drain my friendship capital. TurboTax helps me step by step to pull out and organize files and receipts that stack up "that" drawer. I can find my personal solitude to work through each tax season with TurboTax.
