I cannot understand why Turbo Tax has become so poor in the income section of !099 R. The program is unable to understant the entries and worse than that doubled my RMD so that I had a $23,000 prenalty for not withdrawing the required aount! I had withdrawn the exact amount from my IRA that was required but the only thing I could do was to start all over. After many hours of wasted time I was able to finish 1040 correctly and my state taxes. I have used Turbo tax since 1999 and this was the worst year with the program. I purchased the Deluxe and I prefer to use the Desktop version. The 2024 program had a few glitches with the RMD issue but nothing like the 2025. I waited until late February to start my taxes because I wanted all the updates to be in and take effect. Obviously I did not wait longenough. I will not buy Turbo Tax new year.

If a filer enters the identical information on a form Turbo Tax should have a pop-up stating that there are identical forms and request that the filer confirm that they wish to send the same document twice. It would save a lot of aggravation and corrected filings.

I've been a TurboTax user for over 35 years! My most helpful year was when I moved to New York State and had to prepare returns for myself and for my two children who had trust accounts. That required producing three federal returns, three state returns for Michigan, and returns for New York State and New York City. I was awash in tax forms that year. As a retiree, I am faced with the sometimes difficult task of preparing estimated taxes. Some mutual funds do not make capital gains payouts until December, and the amount of said payments are usually unknown until they are paid in December. Yet, the estimated tax features in Turbo Tax have become sparser and sparser, harder to find in the product, and entirely inadequate. Instead, estimated tax calculations and forms seem to be simply populated with the most recent year's data without allowing any capability to change elements making up one's adjusted gross income. Please address this shortfall.

It is getting harder to use TurboTax every year. First I had to upgrade my computer. Loading the program was a pain. Then I needed Rosetta. I wanted to enter the data for income myself but that took multiple extra steps. It felt like I was in a loop. In years past, there wa check box for that. Then I spent hours entering the data, saved it, and logged out. The next morning most of the data I entered was gone. I had to start over.

Overall, the program is logical and easy to follow but in some situations, entering the necessary information is difficult to do. I would suggest that the programmers sit down with CPA's to work through actual representative cases to work out some of the "bugs".

It takes me 2 days to get turbo tax loaded and operating on a computer. It takes me 5 to 8 hours to do my taxes using it. It's insistence on using some windows OS I do not have in my house, nor will I buy makes the product almost worthless IMHO. Surely your intent forcing users to use "latest supported versions of windows" isn't to drive users away, or is it? I'm tired of the headaches, so this is likely the last time I will ever use a turbo tax product, unless by some miracle you all actually start listening to your customers, and stop blocking your software from running on all of our computers. I used turbo tax for more than 10 years on win7, which to this day still works perfectly. But now it seems like every year i need to upgrade again, just to use this. No Thanks.

My wife and I each own separate shares of stock in some of the same and some different companies. I encountered a glitch when trying to download the stock information using Turbotax. We each had different sets of stock handled by Computershare. After downloading the information about my wife's stock successfully, I tried to download the information about my stock. But Turbotax then deleted all the information about my wife's stock. I had to then enter the information manually. Turobax needs to fix this glitch.

One 1099R did not have an entry for State Distribution. I left it blank. The FED return passed all tests, and I went on to eFiling. No Errors. During eFiling processed if stopped with error that distribution could not exceed the distribution and highlighted the blank field as empty of data. Shouldn't the tests at the end of the Fed tax portion have caught this?

Had to call tech support activation screen kept spinning. closed turbo tax then opened again and it worked. Becoming harder to activate too many hoops to jump through may switch to H&R block next year. using turbo tax since eairly 2003. You got my money so don't make me run a triathlon just to activate it . Or go back to the disk or a flash dive. Simplicity Simplicity is the key!!

Does not really answer questions. You end up having to go to the internet or the IRS to get more detailed information. It's not worth buying the program for simple taxes with the standard deduction being so large. Money for the program, money to file, advertisements the whole way...spend money to pay money. Thanks.
