After using Turbo Tax and its predecessors for over 30 years, I am truly considering finding another program. This year's program was extremely difficult to follow. I am an accountant and file taxes for the corporations I previously worked for, so I am at least familiar with things. I had to read and re-read instructions multiple times before, I hope, I put in the correct numbers. This is the first year you haven't included "It's Deductible". When you give frequently to charitable organizations non cash items, that was a God send. If I wanted to price every single item, I would have had a yard sale!

Electronic payment fee not accepted for my credit card until I used one I did not wish to use. The form on the turbo tax deluxe did not work properly and on line help unable to resolve. Apparently very poor technology on filing tax return. I used this filing method for over ten years and this is the first time your technology was unable to use for on line filing.

I have been doing my taxes by hand for over 50 years and was talked into using TurboTax this year. I gave the software a 3 rating because all of the calculations were hidden. I like to see how and what forms are used to get the results shown on the pages and forms displayed on the screen. Also a better explanation of the data requested as input is needed in the guidance section. A number of small items that seem to require much repeated input or reviewing.

Disappointed that It's Deductible was removed in the year - so part of the deductions were in the software, and part had to be manually done. Just made it messy. If you were going to get rid of it, seems it would have been cleaner to do it at the END of the tax year. I'm shopping other options now that It's Deductible isn't available anymore.

I find the software easy to use and I appreciate how it guides me through the process. However, it is not helpful when it is time to file- it forces an e-file choice at a fee for state and does not easily allow me a way to print it and mail it in to avoid the fee. It feels rotten that it this is not transparent.

The 2026 Deluxe has significantly changed from 2025 in my opinion. I had several occurances of confusion as to what to do. The 2026 is somewhat difficult to use when importing and also manually inputing data. I had difficulty checking my printed records to verify what was imported. Specifically, finding a menu entry to verify was very difficult to find. Anothe issue I had was IRA distributions. Only in the final check brought up issues (fixes). The questions asked sometimes did no match what Ameriprise and Wells Fargo reported. I had to research answers the questions.

It is a great product. I have used it for many years. The only thing I had a problem with was getting it installed on my computer. I spent over 2 hours with a representative to get it to work. It all seemed so easy before. Wish it worked that way again.

I have been using Turbo Tax for decades and have grown very disappointed in the software in recent years. It's obviously not being maintained for the user, just for seller (TurboTax profit purposes/protection). There are too many quirks and glitches to mention really (some can recreate serious tax errors). I had to refer to AI consistently this year to get around Turbo tax basic problems. Some are just ridiculous and easy problems for Turbo Tax to fix in the software like: 1) disappearing cursor 2) Can't enter a foreign phone number with your foreign address when living abroad 3) Disappearing buttons on the screen 4) Can't order Forms 1116 as required by IRS by user selection - which can force users to delete considerable already inputted data so the software only "sees" the priority info first and then re-input the deleted data. 5) Turbo Tax asks for 1099Q data, but can't handle it properly. You'll be taxed on non-taxable income, unless you mess with the inputs or simply choose not to include them. You must lie to the questionnaire- Ok not to include per IRS, or fix the education costs yourself. 6) etc, etc...just too many low hanging fruit problems to even mention When you investigate alternatives say; foreign income tax exclusion vs. tax credit (exclusion is not always the best choice) and are switching choices back and forth in the questionnaire, ghost forms can be generated. This is really poor. The math on IRS forms is at the early elementary level, so in the example above, there's no excuse for the software not to collect all the relevant information and automatically jump ahead and present the results. And, as additional inputs change the results (very likely), the results should be recalculated and presented in a pop up box. In today's computer age this is very basic, From the user end, the performance is very antiquated....like software from Windows 98 or similar. I think the company has business now because of history and people like consistently in financial matters. I suspect without considerable improvements, Turbo Tax will suddenly disappear in upcoming years by a company that chooses to do it better.

The program was average overall due to the fac that you discontinued ItsDeductible in October 2025. This unfavorable decision caused a lot of problems for those who utilized the ItsDeductible for the year and then had to find an alternative for the remainder of the year. Add to that, only one program Deductible Duck was able to transfer the data from the 10 months that had already been inputted and then add to their program. Deductible Duck did a yeoman's job in being able to transfer the data into Turbo Tax -however there are a few issues with the Form 8283. A lot of manual entries had to be made because Turbo Tax did not allow some of the data to be transferred. I would have used a different program other than Turbo Tax, but due to the last minute decision by Turbo Tax, my only option was Turbo Tax. I find it irresponsible on Turbo Tax's decision to stop a program used by many for many years and leave us hanging. Again KUDOS to Deductible Duck for saving the day. Deductible Duck is a great program for those of us that like to support those in need and hopefully they will be able to have other alternative tax programs we can use in 2026. Turbo Tax has really disappointed many.

Disappointed with the user interface. Not intuitive at all, less-so than 2024. Found ourselves going around in circles navigating to specific portions of broader groupings. Annoying that program keeps repeatedly re-asking same questions when going back and forward. We understand dependencies require that sometimes. I'm a software engineer with 40+ years experience. Poorly designed UI. Today's chatbots can even write it better. Just one (of many) suggestions: When editing a financial institution form, always place the account name at the top so you know what account you are in (and also for the subsequent follow-up questions.) Ending on a positive note, content and ability to calculate taxes appears to work OK.
