poor information

very disappointed with not being able to efile through first try. There was no issue on my side and your software wasn't able to identify the issue. As a result, I used up my five efiles very quickly and weren't able to efile taxes for my family. I'll reconsider using turbo tax next year

User-friendliness is down.

I have been using Turbo Tax for several years, but this year it has been more difficult. The format has changed a bit, making it more difficult. Also, after installing it, at first my return showed up from last year, as did my son's. I did mine. When I closed mine after completing it, and went back to do my son's taxes, using last year's as a guide, it disappeared. I tried uploading the past year's from 2 different type of files listed In Turbo Tax. Neither worked. Not sure if I will use Turbo Tax next year as I didn't find this year's compatibility to be what I wanted and expected.

RMD Category

The Section for 1099-Rs is inclusive of pensions, RMD, etc. The system assumed that my pension also had an RMD distribution. So much so, that it automatically included my pension which is generated by Prudential Retirement in the RMD sheet with my actual RMD which was generated by Wells Fargo. While it kept showing it as a error, there was no explanation as to why the system was picking it up as an error. This is a system problem that is a carry over from last year with the RMD distribution category. Maybe the RMD function should be in a different section. Turbo Tax is not intuitive and you really do need some Accounting experience.

Auto uploads of investment data

Remind people that when you automatically upload Investment data it does not overwrite what you manually input. It creates another form and if you don't catch that you will be overpaying your taxes. Clear out any manually input investment data and then do the auto upload.

Turbo Tax Should Be Better

Felt much harder to navigate then previous years. Felt frustrating having to go back and forth when entering dividends and interest for accounts that should have showed up automatically. To many new questions about the previous 1099s that were confusing , and didn't use to be there. Finally at the end when I entered my credit card for efile, it wouldn't accept the correct month mine expired. It would only accept numbers up to 8 and not beyond. Finally had another card with a lower expiration month. Then all went through. VERY FRUSTRATING!

TurboTax Coming to an end... 1984-2026 RIP

This may be my last year using TurboTax. If Intuit takes TurboTax to Online only next year like they they are, I will go to another product like TaxAct who says they will ALWAYS offer a standalone version of their product. I have been using TurboTax since 1984 with Version 1.0a so this is a huge disappointment. Intuit's choice. Standalone version and keep Customers or Cloud-based only and you've lost a lot of people like me.

Some issues

In general it was easy to follow through completingn answering the questions and inputting the information. My disappointment was I couldn't transfer last year's information. This would have been very helpful. Also I have no idea what meant with "tmx-bpxi-uuid-service" keychain ??? There no details on how to locate and purpose . Also I thought everytime you go on it will check for updates, Got update check when I could transmit return.

Turbo Tax has some bugs it needs to fix--again!

Generally okay, but when trying to pay for MA state e-file, TurboTax asked to save my return and locked up and completely crashed my windows machine, and I have high-end recent model. Also, when TurboTax asked for my credit card info I couldn't even scrolled down in the pull-down box to enter my expiration month. The box wouldn't go any further than month 8. I thing TurboxTax should stop being so sloppy. Every year something like this happens. Taxes and payments shouldn't be a sloppy business. You're scaring me Intuit.

Fine; hate the lack of credit card payment date

Filing went well, until I decided to pay my federal taxes with a credit card. I kept waiting to be asked for the date on which I wanted my taxes to be paid, like when I pay via ACH. The question was never asked, and TurboTax never made it clear that my debit card would be charged immediately! I was very disappointed when my credit card sent me a notification of this unusually large transaction! I consulted IRS, who not only charges a smaller fee for credit card payments, but also gives the opportunity to specify a date!

TurboTax...Not what it Used To Be

I've been using Turbo Tax for decades both on a PC and now on a Mac, and it just isn't what it used to be. There were formatting issues where a complete number didn't fit on one line in a display and wrapped around itself in a box (charitable giving worksheet), I hit at least two links for more information that didn't go anywhere (I received an error message), multiple links in the Visit Each Area didn't go to the same place twice (despite pressing the same button multiple times), and the display would put a number in a column on the overview for Wages or Deductions saying the app was using one number but display another. Turbo Tax used to just be tight. I previously answered the questions in a logic order and completed my taxes. This run through made me question why a number of things happened, requiring me to go to the Tax Forms themselves to try to decipher how a specific number was calculated. I seem to recollect that previous versions had flags to provide feedback if something wasn't working correctly but that feature seems to have disappeared, as if Intuit doesn't care about making their desktop product any better. There were multiple items I would have flagged for feedback. The app is now filled with repeated up sales, some without costs laid out ahead of time. I feel like I was being driven toward the online version of Turbo Tax 2025, and the offer showed a cost of zero dollars, while I anticipate I still would have had to pay for the online software, a state filing, and a fee to try to pay my tax bill with a credit card (yet the offer showed $0). I loved this product years ago when I started using it. Now, I use it while keeping my eye open for something more user-friendly.
