Efiling of state returns should be included!

Charing $25 plus tax to state efile turbo tax is for the birds! Paying for the state efile is awful, your screens again using windows software cannot fully see and submit the payment making it very frustrating. In addition, your updates are too frequent and take too long. Turbo again fails to be able to handle the Ohio Municipal income tax which is required to be filed by all Ohio citizens where they live. Turbo never programs so this must be done manually off system.

Taxes a pain in the posteirior to do unnecessarily

i feel it provides me with a good & accurate way to do taxes. I like the idea of downloading documents from my financial institutions. i like that the program guides me through the return. Federal taxes have become very hard to understand and do. it seems to me they used to be easier to file at one time, because at one time I actually sis taxes by hand.

TurboTax Enshittification

I like the ability to keep my tax and financial information off of the cloud and to save my returns to my local hard drive. The TurboTax downloadable version was hard to find, and I had to wade through lots of attempts to get me to use the online version every place I searched. Once I found and downloaded the software, I spent about 30 minutes trying to activate it. The re-captcha function would not let me through no matter what I did. I finally had to log into my Intuit account through a browser to activate the software. Then once I opened the downloaded version, I was presented with a questionnaire asking me why I wouldn't use the online version. I was not allowed to use the downloaded product until I filled out the questionnaire. This is all a VERY BAD look. Now I suspect that the downloadable version is on its way out. I will not use an online/cloud platform for my taxes. You will lose me as a customer if you do as I suspect you are planning and kill the download. In fact, I'm already researching other tax preparation software because you've made it clear that I cannot count on a downloadable version for 2026. If you do not want to scare off your customers who will not post their tax/financial information to an online service, you need to make a commitment now to a downloaded version and make it easy to find, easy to activate, easy to use. Otherwise, you will cede this segment of your customer base.

Needs additional work for amended returns

I like turbo tax but there are errors in the program for filing an amended return for 2025. 1) it doesn't print the 1099-x form. all other forms print but only a blank page for it. Even with going directly to the form itself. 2) there are mixed messages regarding electronic filing for an amended return. The info indicates that electronic filing is possible but the step by step says it must be printed and mailed

Could be better!

1. When comparing 2024 and 2025 data, sometimes the columns are 2024/2025; at other places, they are 2025/2024. This is confusing: it should be the same everywhere. 2. When TT asked whether I had any <financial presence> in a <list of foreign countries>, I answered "No" to all of them. However, on the very next screen, it wanted to know what my <financial presence> was in Canada. Huh?????

eFile screen same bug as 2024. 2nd bug - county

I like the walk-through approach even though this is 3rd or 4th year where we only get the standard deduction. The efile screen still hasn't been formatted to fit the screen so I can't click on continue without first making the taskbar disappear. TY 2024 had the same problem. When attempting to efile - received another error - this time it asked for my county?? Why couldn't Intuit pull this automatically from the zip code?

Good, with a couple of minor glitch es

Two minor glitches: It wouldn't use my 2023 tax return as the base. It would be good to be slightly more backwards-compatible. (MUn beknownst to me, my 2024 TurboTax file was corrupted after filing at the last save, so I couldn't use it.) Even though I clicked on the answer that all self-employment income was generated in my home office, it never entered the 100% anywhere nd told me that my home office had to be carried over to tax yesr 2026. This made no sense, so I went back and answered the questions again. Same thing. So I had to search through the various forms and worksheets to force-enter by hand (as well as the percentage of hy home my office is).

TurboTax (PC) is great! TurboTax (Cloud)... meh...

Overall, remains an excellent and easy to use product. Personally, I was not happy with the "encouragement" built into the product to use it online. I started using it online and was not pleased with the interface. It was significantly different than the version I was used to using on my PC and I was not willing to take the time to learn/navigate the new product. If that is the future of TurboTax, I will miss it because I'll be looking for a different product and experience.

Tax Filing Process Should Not Follow Politics

I am extremely disappointed in most of the changes that I have found this year. I have been a customer since 1997 and if my tax experience has to become a political support mechanism, this will be my last year. I also cannot, for the life of me, understand the removal of the one thing that made charitable giving documentation less painful and mysterious. In these many years, that is the stupidest decision I have seen you implement. Several of my friends are already seeking alternate software for next year. Boo!

Gets worse every year

Intuit has followed the tech business model by requiring an Intuit account. The only purpose for this is to steal, store and abuse personal information and make a target for hackers. This invasion of privacy needs to stop. Get rid of the account requirement. This software should also be available on disk instead of the complicated and unreliable download process
