Turbotax makes it easy to enter information with the interview questions, so I don't forget anything. Also it is a great help that all the information entered from last year is transferred into the new tax year. I have been using Turbotax for years and find the enhancements made every year are great.

I have used Turbotax for the past 15 years and this years version is the worst so far. The step by step guide is very confusing and leaves out important questions. If you are not very careful you will leave out required information. Also, even though I am a Florida resident 9 no state income tax) the program instructed me to pay $45 to download the Florida state program!

I type in the 16 digit code in the activation page and it does nothing, that is as far as it will let me go. It will not even allow me to exit out, the only way that I can get rid of the activation page is by using the task manager. Turbotax support is useless doesn't know what to do. Google gives more help but that has not worked either. I'm not the only person having problems. I have purchased 2 turbo tax 2025 from Sam's and nothing works %26 Sam's or turbo Tax will not refund. My personal opinion is that That Turbo tax wants to force you to the online Cloud version, because the IRS is pressuring them to have everything in the cloud. Every year turbo tax has problems transferring treasury interest, which is state tax free to my state form, even though I've entered it correctly on the federal form. It also says I will may owe a state penalty for underpayment of just $101, which is not correct. They always hook you in on paying for a state filing separately and almost get you with a $40 fee if you opt to deduct the fee from your federal return. This is very distasteful and gives the consumer a bad feeling about the company

I had just about finished my Federal return when the program locked up. I waited for the spinning wheel to stop but it just did not. I had to force quit the program and all of my data was lost. I would recommend that for the desktop version that Turbo Tax would put a BOLD reminder to save the progress as you go along. Even better would be to auto save every few minutes.

I have used Turbo Tax for decades and highly recommend it. I appreciate the functionality and ability to switch at will between easy-step and forms, and select the option to work on specific areas of income, deductions and worksheets. I also like the ability to identify data sources for entry boxes, and see how the entries interact. The program provides all the necessary forms, and with the import features, it greatly simplifies investment reporting and entries. In summary - Turbo Tax works!

Had several issues: First, the software was downloaded into an old inactive account, so I had to spend significant time getting it to where I could use it. The software was very difficult to switch between standard deduction and itemized, the help feature was out of date (in Maryland it is sometime favorable to itemize federal becuase the state standard deduction is low so the net is better. Spend a couple of hours trying to figure that out, it was easy last year and you made it harder. Instructions for what and why I needed to file with form 8453 were not clear. I am e-filing, but the software showed an error for allowing electronic debit to my account even though your software made the election on that form, I hope that works. For my son's return, he used a car in his for business as a contractor last year, but not this year, but I can't get the software to recognize that, it keeps wanting car data, no way to say not used.

Getting too complicated and Turbo Tax no longer provides simple understandable explanations. In addition, for some unknown reason TurboTax threw me into a Canadian Retirement Fund question that I could not avoid. I have no Canadian Retirement Fund accounts at all.
