Over priced for value/utility received. Default user interface and experience is horrible, despite having been on the market for many years. Design has a seemingly deliberate lack of obvious features that would improve use/experience and little to no user control through settings/preference adjustments. The process for correcting errors, when flagged, is ridiculously devoid of necessary context or information needed to understand and correct the error. Want more detailed feedback? Pay me.

Many issues remain but one can eventually find a work around. Such as, TurboTax continues to incorrectly treat passive interest earned from lending securities through a brokerage account as earned income subject to self-employment taxes. TurboTax continues to insist that I file a State return when I have no income from a State with income tax. This gets VERY annoying. The automated "Tax Help" only give very off-the-wall answers to my questions. It is worse than useless. That said, the live assistant (non-expert) was very helpful. I was surprised when I was able to get help in around 10-minutes.

I've used Turbo Tax for well over 20 years and this year was awful. First, too many superfluous questions and comments regarding upselling me. Second, I was asked questions regarding my 1099's that I could not answer (and had never been asked in years past) was not on the 1099 itself. Third, during the review part of my return, I kept having to fill out missing information and did --- I CORRECTED ABOUT 5 TIMES. It would not e-file my return. I had to go back and reenter stuff that was already there before my taxes could be e-filed.

Somehow you made it a bit more complicated than it needs to be or has been in the past. The E-filing is not good this year. Between the AGI and h format required for driver's licenses, I had go out and get more instructions outside Turbo Tax. I think I need to try another software next year and I've been with Turbo Tax forever.

I was appalled when learning after paying over $70.00 for the Turbo Tax Software, you then wanted me to switch to Turbo Tax Online and then then double what I had already spent for an online Consultant or what have you. I'm not sure I like the direction you're going in and will be considering ending my automatic renewal for next year. I'm skipping the review, I don't it's a good idea to put anything in writing at the moment.

TurboTax is an excellent product that has evolved in feature/functionality and price over the years. It continues to be the frontrunner of all these type applications that I have attempted to use in prior years. I enjoy using TurboTax because I don't feel like I need to be an accountant to understand the terminology used to address the information the software needs. Keep up the excellent work going forward. One note for you of an error. When TurboTax updated the software during initial startup, the message displayed that TurboTax would automatically restart. IT DID NOT RESTART!

Experience with the irs tax application went ok, with some challenges. I did file the federal return electronically. My experience with the Pennsylvania tax return was the worst. I tried many times to e-file in Pennsylvania and simply could not. In a last ditch effort I tried again and again to file by mail and there to it was a disaster. The forms to file were not correct and when I attempted to pull up a print PA 1040 (their main page), the system would not allow me to print it. The forms I was able to get did not even include even the page that required our signatures.

Not enough information provided on some steps. Questions are not always witten in an easy to understand manner. The user is not notified that if you choose to pay the state e-file fee using a debit to your bank account, that you will be charged $40. If you pay by credit card, there is not fee. Even after troubleshooting, I could not determine how to correct this, thus am now filing by mail. Hopefully, my account will not be debited on the date that I assigned. And, why the online versions of a given version are different than a desktop version is maddening! I entered all my data in online TT two times and was pompted to upgrade based upon the forms that I had to file, while the desktop version offers that in a lower priced version. I purchased the desktop version. Ultimately, I entered my data three times. So frustrating and a huge waste of my time!

I was EXTREMELY disappointed to have been offered the subtract from my refund option vs. credit card. Credit card option was $40 LESS than the Turbo Tax way of bamboozling more money out of its customers - and for what? I will be looking at another service next year.

I'm have been using TurboTax for years. I'm very satisfied with it. Seems very user friendly. I feel safe not having a preparer do it for me because of data breeches. Two people I know suspects a preparer used their personal info to file their taxes. Love pins.
