Generally, TurboTax is good and I've used it for a number of years. The one area the software needs improving: if you receive a housing allowance as part of a qualified religious organization or vocation, the instructions are not particularly clear on the proper way to record this on the tax forms. I needed to ask the community for help which I received, but one shouldn't need to ask in the first place.

I've been using Turbotax for over 30 years and this year has been the worst ever. I had a need to amend my electronically filed federal return within 2 days and used that option. Yet, I still don't see where the amendment was filed. It displays the correct refund amount, but the print version is not correct. Furthermore, no indication that the amended return was sent or received by the IRS.

I've been a TurboTax user for over 35 years! My most helpful year was when I moved to New York State and had to prepare returns for myself and for my two children who had trust accounts. That required producing three federal returns, three state returns for Michigan, and returns for New York State and New York City. I was awash in tax forms that year. As a retiree, I am faced with the sometimes difficult task of preparing estimated taxes. Some mutual funds do not make capital gains payouts until December, and the amount of said payments are usually unknown until they are paid in December. Yet, the estimated tax features in Turbo Tax have become sparser and sparser, harder to find in the product, and entirely inadequate. Instead, estimated tax calculations and forms seem to be simply populated with the most recent year's data without allowing any capability to change elements making up one's adjusted gross income. Please address this shortfall.

Turbotax is fine for simple tax returns, but if you have to deal with something like community property (for spouses in different states), then you end up filling out paperwork manually. If you're not the spouse who lives in the community property state then you even have to trick the software into letting you enter the information by changing your residence to a different state, and then changing your residence back.

I have been using Turbo Tax over 30 years. I am a retired accountant, and I find Turbo Tax the easiest way to do my taxes. Never had a problem with the program at all. Just follow the programs direction and you are good to go. I highly recommend it.

I have used Turbo Tax for YEARS. I love it!! I use it to do my taxes and taxes for my family (sons and now grandkids). I have a business degree with an emphasis in accounting and I am capable of doing taxes without the TurboTax software. However, this makes it so easy and is ALWAYS accurate. I use the automatic renewal. I get notification in November and download the software and am READY TO GO. The feature to walk me through or explore on my own is exceptional. The interface to auto-fill the W2 information is always accurate. In addition, the compatibility between other software (Acrobat, Word, etc) make saving, printing, or other options, a breeze. I had to use another brand once and I will NEVER change again. Turbo Tax is TOP OF THE LINE.

I have been a TurboTax user for 25 years and love using the software. I will continue to use the software going forward. I was disappointed to see the removal of ItsDeductible. I have used that for many years and it was extremely helpful in itemizing household items. I missed that very much this year!! Thank you.

Little improvement from year to year on user experience. Need to get user focus groups from various tax scenarios and have them go through their pages and tell you what they find hard to understand, where they get lost, experience with downloads, helps, etc. If your team spends a couple of days with a select group of people to go over their taxes minus the data, you will walk away with enormous amount of input to make the program more versatile, fool proof and friendly. Here is yet another annoying bug, why do you have a 4 character minimum on nickname. Am I suppose to make up additional letters to append to my name "Ben"?????

your advertisement is JOKES , $0 is $0....... i do not invite you to my store and say i have FREE popcorn and then charge you a bakers fee at the end....... Turbo tax advertisement says "file for $0" when, at the very end im paying fees....... THATS STILL PAYING FOR SOMTHING which turns your advertisement into a lie. What's even more crazy is you dont even SAY ANYTHING about the fees you have to pay at the end ......

I have been using TurboTax for many, many years. This year's version (Desktop version Deluxe) was a big hassle for two reasons: 1) It requires Windows 11 (we mostly have computers that still run Windows 10, but have one newer computer that we were able to run TurboTax on) 2) The financial data import for Merrill Lynch did not work. It seemed like TurboTax would not/could not connect with Merrill Lynch (error 590 all the time). This had been one of the big time savers with TurboTax for us. Because of these hassles, I may stop using TurboTax in the future.
