Very Frustrated User

Interface and topic helps were awful and impossible to navigate. Program's help functions were useless. I sought phone help and two different women tried to help me figure out how to enter 1099-PATR information. First woman admitted defeat after 1.5 hours. We also could not get Intuit Meeting to work. The second woman finally figured out how to enter the info after 2 hours, but then we could not get Intuit Meeting to work either. I have used Turbo Tax for decades and navigating was intuitive, but no more. This was my worst experience. An extremely frustrated user of TurboTax Deluse.

Pretty good if you know what you're doing.

Mostly pretty good, but some glitches exist. It sent me ack to the main menu of deductions a few times when it discovered I was not qualified for a particular deduction instead of continuing the interview. It also asks for your name and address in several places even though you have already provided it. It should just ask you if it should use your home address.

TurboTax is easy to use!!

I really enjoyed using TurboTax 2025. It is very easy to use. A few things I would add to make this an even better product is to take a 1099R or 1098T or other similar documents in PDF format and directly (automatically) enter to TurboTax which help minimize errors. Also, make it easier to FULLY edit 1099R, 1098T, etc. forms once input into TurboTax.

Changes made by Turbo Tax

I have used turbo tax software for many years and I found that the 2025 turbo tax is not as smooth as what I used in the past. For example, the New York state estimated tax (for 2026) set up was not well developed. I have tried to fix the problem but spent great deal of time. Help support is another issue from turbo tax. I got no help for my questions although a lot of info provided. I believe the problem was something changed in the program by turbo tax but it take a lot of time figure out and understand the way what turbo tax think is a normal for the users to follow.

Stay away.

I paid for the desktop version. When I finished and was ready to file, the program told me it had to charge me $40 to file my Federal taxes. It also wants ti charge me $40 to file my state form. I spoke with Turbotax, and they were baffled and sent me a link to download it again. Same issue. I spoke with Sam's club, and as expected, there is nothing they can do. I've been using TurboTax for years, but never again.

Less than great

I have been using TT for more than 25 years. This was the worst experience that I have ever had. An example... You insisted that I give you the name and state and zip code of my employer before you could submit my return. That might seem reasonable except that I had already told you that I was retired with no employers, no self-employment, and definitely no employment credits requested.

Overall good but needs work regarding payment

Overall good and easy to use, but options regarding payment are flawed for payment plan options. Overall it guides through well but the interface does not give proper features to identify a payment plan being requested and approved as it suggests doing.

Unnecessary forms filed

It's OK -- what gets me it the lack of insight that an AI could provide. For example, I completed a whole series of questions about energy savings possible deduction. In the end it was still better to take the standard deduction. I took the standard deduction, but it STILL included all that paperwork in the filing and the printed copy. Once I take the standard deduction, ask me if this data can be removed from the filing. It just adds unnecessary confusion.

Defective IL software. And PAID efiling not allowe

Extremely disappointed by TurboTax Illinois return. It forces me to use incorrect name and SSN for a grantor trust K-1-P. I won't use a beneficiary name and SSN (this is not what the K-1-P from the business shows!) and because of that, efile cannot be done. Yet I was charged for efiling state return. And when I tried to discuss with someone, I was not allowed unless I sign up for an expensive Expert package.

Very disappointed - Likely won't use again

I ran into glitches on ALL 3 tax returns I created. I've never had so many issues using turbo tax in my life. I understand that glitches happen, but to have them impact EVERY return is unacceptable. I wasn't able to e-file my federal or state returns for my husband and myself because turbo tax believed my 1099-g info entered was incorrect. I had federal and state tax taken out of my medical leave pay in 2025 not sure if it would be taxable, but ultimately my benefits were not taxable. Turbo tax thought I entered my paid medical leave benefits incorrectly because box 1 was blank but had state and federal deductions. Meanwhile, I already paid to e-file the state form and couldn't even utilize the service I paid for. When processing my son's return, turbo tax treated his 529 distribution as taxable even though it went directly to the school and was used for qualified expenses. Fortunately, his distribution was small, so I just moved on. Looking online, this happened to numerous people and added large sums to their taxable income. When processing my daughter's return and adding her 401(k) rollover, turbo tax asked me to add information for her Canadian Pension. She doesn't have a Canadian pension. I know it wasn't just me, because I saw multiple complaints about this online. Even this comment box keeps glitching. That says a lot.
