Unlike the past 20 years I have used Turbo Tax I cannot recommend it this year. There was no side by side year comparison. Information from last year tax return was not used to generate appropriate forms for this year. I had to figure it out for myself. Prompts for this year were not nearly as helpful. Unless I read of improvements before I select software for next year will be looking at other products.

i started with the online version of turbo tax after receiving several emails about the product. for my needs i felt that the online version was extremely glitchy and frustrating to navigate through. its the first time i was frustrated with a turbo tax product.

I have been utilizing Turbo Tax software for many decades and this program 2025 is the far worst ever program sold by Turbo Tax. I hope you have not hear me using some anathematizing words for the last hour or so. Please make it easier not more confusing. Simply program it to enter information for married couple without going back and forth like entering social security incomes on this software. Do not change things every year to make things more complicated. This year maybe the last year I'm using your Turbo monstrously CONFUSING software. One more thing; instead of asking for state ID- just say state! I thought that I have to use certain state assigned numbers-on estimated tax work sheet. I had very difficult time efiling federal/state files- just for this issue with State ID (cursing words hidden). Streamline program!!!!!

TurboTax user for 25 years. Input screens seem to be getting so simple (dumbed down) that they are now confusing as to what data needs to be input. This leads me to question TurboTax's accuracy in calculating the various IRS forms. A first time user may not catch all of the nuances. All of the questions I had with TurboTax caused me to take longer to do the 2025 Fed taxes than expected. Several areas where state ID information is requested in 1099-R section. Texas not listed in selection screen as a choice. 1099-R data input did not place amounts into 1040 form where I expected them. Input was reviewed and found to be correct. Deleted input completely and re-entered information; amounts on 1040 form were then placed where expected. 1099-R RMD screen is very confusing. As a first time taker of RMDs, I have until April 2026 to take my RMDs. I actually took them in Dec 2025. The way the screen appears to be worded, it said I needed to input $0 as my RMD number for 2025. This makes no sense. I called TurboTax, they confirmed this was correct. Not sure what underlying screens or year to year RMD tracking is affected. Screen needs major wording clarification. Also, why is TurboTax updated every time I log in? If software updates change my situation after I've input data or filed my taxes, how is my filing affected? It still updates my 2024 version if I open it!

The guidance is poor, seeming to skip subjects and uses too many unexplained acronyms. The help is useless. I've been using TurboTax for years and have noticed a steady degradation in its ease of use. It seems that may be a ploy to get people to give them money for advice and buy audit insurance from them.

The only 2 good things I experienced with this year's software was the help I received from Intruit's helpful agent when I could not get a saved copy of what I had entered during my initial input of personal data and income. He helped me very much cause I was about to junk the software and go to some other vendor of tax software. The second good area was the listing of my charities that I contributed to in 2024 which helped me in that I didn't have to enter all my charity organizations. Previous software asked proper and easy questions, but not this new software. Please go back to 2024's software.

I had to call in for tech support as the app would not load. I did everything the app was telling me to do...I spent at least 3 hours loading, uninstalling, rebooting but to no avail. After an hour on the phone with tech support, it turned out there was an issue with a setting in the Microsoft C++ that I had to toggle. It took an hour on the phone with an excellent, knowledgeable and tenacious technician, but I don't believe I should have had to do that. It was very frustrating and time consuming solution....

Tells you can E File 5 I only use 3 and 1 was rejected when I did my last one said I reach my limits of 5 so I guess now they count even the number of rejections. I you try again takes 1 and again counts as 1. Never had happen before i will stay away from Trubo Tax after 20 plus years.

Please make the "use tax" part of the Indiana return easier. Ive got everything on excel, please allow me to copy and past large swaths of data rather than manually entering each value. Also this stupid AI on this review keeps changing my words. Turn it off.

My experience was generally good but two items could be improved. First, this year I was not able to download my brokerage statements directly and had to enter amounts manually. This is the first time in several years that this was a problem. I tried multiple times on multiple days. Second I have several accounts with the same brokerage. There should be a way to identify the last 4 numbers of the account number so these can be identified and prompted correctly from year to year. The program prompts on interest from Brokerage, for example, but that is not helpful if there are several accounts with interest and it is impossible to know what account it is prompting for.
