Have been using TurboTax since its release and it never seems to fail. I appreciate the reviews and checks to make sure there everything is accurate and completed correctly. I was disappointed they removed It's Deductible. That was an excellent tool for pricing items given to Goodwill or Salvation Army.

I have used TurboTax Deluxe every year since 2014, the program is easy to use and is mostly intuitive. The help topics are generally helpful and more specific questions can be asked via the TurboTax Community. Although the latest 2026 version required Windows 11 or later operating system for security purposes, it did mean that I needed to purchase a new computer as the old computer wasn't capable of being upgraded (not a TurboTax problem, a Microsoft problem). Overall, I would recommend TurboTax for most taxpayers.

I purchased TurboTax deluxe 2025 this year and it was an online version only. I was very disappointed with it. I just didn't feel comfortable with it. I have been using TurboTax desktop version since the early 1990's. I've been very satisfied with the desktop version. So, I ordered another TurboTax deluxe 2025 desktop version. Please keep the desktop version for your (senior) customers.

I downloaded forms online, it didn't recognize them later when I needed to work on them. I had to download the forms again. One form downloaded the numbers incorrectly. I bought desktop app and went online to do taxes. It was confusing to then get it back to the desktop. If I had finished online it was trying to charge me again for the state product I had bought in the desktop. The last time I used turbotax was in 2022 and it was easier. It does have more features now, but seems like they still need to be smoothed out.

Twice now, I have tried to file electronically and when I put in the AGI from the previous year, it rejects the return. To clarify, by twice, I mean two years on a row. I confirmed on the printed copy from the previous year and last year and this year, it was rejected. I wasn't crazy about the $40 fee for the "free" electronic filing on the federal return but I guess I won' be paying that once again as I will have to mail it in.

I've been using TurboTax about 20 years. I've never had an issue, but had several this year. Some questions were not asked in the EasyStep, then appeared as an error, or were simply not answered on the IRS copy. I hope to see the inconsistencies and flow improved next year.

There are still some sections that are not self explanatory and require me to use Google to try and figure out what Turbo Tax is asking and what type of response I need to put. Especially California Capital Loss Carryover section in the State Tax. It tells me to input the amount?? Why doesn't Turbo Tax fill it out?

I have been using TT for more than 25 years. This was the worst experience that I have ever had. An example... You insisted that I give you the name and state and zip code of my employer before you could submit my return. That might seem reasonable except that I had already told you that I was retired with no employers, no self-employment, and definitely no employment credits requested.

I like using turbotax. Unfortunately, this year you offered the options for direct deposit and mail for the refund. IRS is only doing direct deposit for 2025 and I have had to do a lot of extra work to get it changed to direct deposit. Please change that for next year.

Turbo Tax is helpful and comprehensive and covers most of the issues that could come up. It helps me get my taxes organized and then filed in a reasonable time. I did need an expert to answer a couple of questions which they did well. I found it helpful to be able to look at the actual tax forms as well as the step by step portion. I have used Turbo Tax for a number of years now with no problems or an audit!
