I am a longtime TurboTax user, and I must say I am very concerned about the quality and accuracy of the software. I was confused as to why certain tax deductions, such as the Child Tax Credit, were not appearing. Googling this issue led me to a solution, but re-entering child information seems like a major flaw and has me doubting whether I am getting all the deductions I am entitled to. I have confidently used TurboTax in past believing the product was solid now I am not so sure. BTW - I checked my 2024 and Child Tax Credit was not applied on that return until I removed and re-entered child information.

The GUI had many problems. The worst: To edit a 'int' or 'div' entry for a specitic bank, I get to a page to do that but there was no way to do that. Only once did the icons to edit (pen) or delete (trash) was there so then I know that they exist! I would mouse over the area where I think they should be and a slight grayish image would appear and I would be careful to click the correct one. The second: The fonts and layouts were sometimes small and sometimes large and sometimes the font setting needed to be reset. Thirdly: I don't want to be repeatedly asked to download my forms or use online service or get advice for $64. The GUI is a combination of old and new. I was disappointed.

MORE DIFICULT THIS YEAR THAT ANOTHER 25YEARS.First the installation of the software you cannot follow the instructions because the said that the software is not official or the license it been use in other software maybe it will be my last time to use Turbo Tax

Most of the process was relatively easy because I've been a long time user of TT. but I took two stars off, (and I was being generous) for the manner TT Deluxe version handles Brokerage account links and downloads, which was extremely frustrating, time consuming and generally annoying and forced me to keep a record in Excel to make sure I was doing it right. Now my Broker situation may be uncommon, I'm not sure, but there has to be a better way. The problem is that I file taxes married, filing jointly and my spouse and I have separate logins to our Broker with eight accounts between the two of us. TT provides screens that just list the brokers name eight times indication for which account goes with which of the eight. TT should allow the user to give each account a nickname that shows up on a screen, or TT should at least provide the last four digits of the account number when they have all the accounts on the screen at once. It makes zero sense for the user to figure out which account is which.

There were hiccups in this year's version that I have never experienced before. The software definitely was not as seamless as in prior years. Additionally, I do not understand why you are charging to electronically file state taxes. This seems like a greedy grab for more money. My state requires everyone to file electronically, and allows you to file electronically for free. We already pay plenty for the TurboTax software, so it is just greedy to charge more for a service that is available for free.

I've been using Turbo Tax for 20 years or so. This year, for some reason, it didn't give me the $12,000 seniors deduction for my wife and I filing joint. I caught it and made the necessary corrections. Not sure why it didn't do it since I was using the step by step method.

Have used TurboTax for 30 years. Very logical, sequential, efficient digital method. Saves me $500/year. Enables me to understand exactly how my taxes are correctly filed. TurboTax data entry takes less time than I'd spend with a paid professional. TurboTax has all the detail, instructions, worksheets, etc. for a top-level analysis. Love Turbo Tax!

Apparently I have to submit a review in order to get the program to stop sending me these annoying messages about not completing the process. The federal and state government's have accepted my returns. I received my tax refund but still get these emails. Maybe this will help.

I always purchase Turbotax product ahead of time ( October or November ) whenever they drop it in my inbox. Today when I was completing my return, I was asked many times to purchase it again. If this is normal I will stop purchasing the product early.

Turbo Tax is a user-friendly program that we've used throughout the years. For the 2025 tax year, I did encounter one problem when it was time to submit the return. The section that asked for both the tax payer and the spouse's adjusted gross income from the previous 2024 tax year was confusing and concerning especially since this section indicated that there could be a delay in processing the return if this information was inaccurate. My husband and I filed a joint return, yet we "both" were asked for our adjusted gross income from the previous year. As a result, we had no choice but to enter the same amount for the adjusted gross income twice, from line 11 of the 2024, 1040-SR U.S. Income Tax Return For Seniors.
