TURBO TAX CAN BE IMPROVED

Your "info" button doesn't provide enough information to know if something applies or not. Also I hate the On-Line version. If you ever get rid of the regular TurboTax (downloadable version) I will no longer use TurboTax. I've been a customer for about 30 years.

ERROR IN STATE FORMS

when verifying my state taxes, you did not ask me to sign my input form and date it. now i have to mail this form to the state because you have the check mark set for "I am NOT the preparer" set by default. Maybe get it fixed on an update to save other people.

Downloading tax data

Need to have someway of preventing duplicate downloads of tax data from investment firms. I accidently downloaded my info twice and it set up each download as a separate taxable event. If I wouldn't have caught it, there would have been double the income and gains . Not a good thing !

It's a complete and easy system to use

I entered all info required, but I don't understand why I had to do that because I knew ( from the 2024 filing) that we were not going to be able to itemize as we would get more back just using the standard deduction. It would have saved me a lot of time if I could have just went to the info I needed. On the other hand I may just have not understood how to do it. None the less, I do believe Turbo Tax is the way to go

Waiting on forms to be available

Just started to enter data and several forms are unavailable. Cannot yet enter 1099-R or Home Energy Credits. I have the MacOS version and there is no "Save" button on each screen. You must use the Quit function to get a screen that lets you name and save your data. If you don't know this, you may lose everything you just entered. Also, they pester you to move to their online version, but your Sams Club credits (as in the $10 credit towards e-filing your state return) will not apply if you do so.

Still frustrating to use

Used web version of turbo tax last year(2024). Used local install (windows) version for filing 2025. I switched back to the local install because the web version was full of bait and switch pricing. And other lame issues. No useful documents could be found on Intuits website/portal/account (my account) for tax year 2024. Zero. Long story short I now have to mail both federal and state instead of E file. Is the dev team for the web version of turbo tax still run by a bunch of fourth graders?

Mac & Turbo Tax issues

Issue with Turbo Tax on Mac computer. Over an hour with Support Person. Nothing she had me try fixed the problem. I had to uninstall & reinstall, DENY (3x) on the Keychain Password screen. Spent 4 days on what should have been a one day job! The first 2 days TT would no save my info!

Used to be great, 2025 is clunky

Normally a great program this years version is clunky, it ask if you have a 1099G but doesn't give you a way to enter the dollar amount, the button isn't there just the line telling you what the button would do should it exist. It felt like AI was used, some of the wording was confusing (I'm have a English degree).

Turbo Tax works quRite well for me.

I found the tax sections and information entry process to be comprehensive. My life has simplified and my tax situation has simplified and I find Turbo Tax handles everything I require. Before I switched to Turbo Tax, I ran a filing comparison against my tax preparer's Fed Tax Return I was pleased with the result. I do wish Turbo Tax would allow me to alphabetize my charity list for easier review and checking.

Desktop version worked better than on-line version

Everything went okay for the most part. I tried to use the "online" version which was fine until I tried to e-file. It would not work. I also could not get a print copy to mail. I used my "desktop" version and it worked fine. (After I re-entered all the previous data). Overall a good experience.
