Had to "fudge" my return by entering amounts in form 1099-R Box 16 "State Distribution" for forms that were received with that box blank. For NY State return, TT stated State Tax withheld cannot be greater than Gross Distribution or State Distribution. As Gross Distribution is always greater than State Tax withheld, TT should compare State Tax Withheld to Gross Distribution for acceptance.

Had a little problem with the interface between federal and Arizona state, particularly it didn't see the state refund I received and where I recorded it on my federal for. Accepted return with error. Accuracy is good. Features are good. Guidance is good.

The Software walked me through everything pertaining to the situations that were of importance to me. It also had answers for questions that I had. Very easy to use and understand. I have been using TurboTax for 15 years now, and I have always been pleased with the ease of use and the help if and when needed. I have even had friends and relatives that used to pay someone to prepare their taxes, actually use the Turbo Tax software and were very pleased with it! :)

I used TurboTax Desktop to file Married Filing Separately with a non-resident alien spouse who does not have an SSN or ITIN — a situation that is explicitly allowed by the IRS. TurboTax allowed me to complete the return, but then let me e-file knowing the IRS would reject it, only to fail at submission with an SSN mismatch error. At no point did TurboTax clearly warn that e-file is impossible in this scenario or that the software would force me into paper filing after the fact. This resulted in: Wasted time troubleshooting an error that isn’t fixable via e-file Confusing and contradictory guidance during the interview process A requirement to paper-file despite paying for software marketed as e-file capable TurboTax should detect this filing scenario early, clearly explain that paper filing will be required, and avoid guiding users down a guaranteed rejection path. This is a common situation for taxpayers with overseas spouses, and the software experience does not handle it well. The tax calculations themselves are fine, but the user experience and lack of upfront disclosure made this far more frustrating than necessary.

There were some glitches in installing the Desktop version but the TurboTax support team gave me effective help. The program is overly persistent in trying to sell live-human assistance but the application is so well structured that I did not need any help. The downloads of 1099 forms from banks and brokerage firms were very smooth.

Working with TurboTax is easy as long as one doesn't hit a software snag. That appears to be the situation since after completing the entries and requesting a print of the returns, all I receive are pages of misaligned scrambled letters, symbols and numbers. The worst thing, without paying $60 dollars there is no one to reach out to. Spending time to trouble shoot and failing to find a solution is unacceptable. But I am caught between a rock and a hard spot. Very disappointed with my purchase of Intuit Turbotax.

Data entry was straight forward and easy. My 2024 tax return data was pulled into my 2025 return flawlessly. Fed data rolled into the VA state return with little effort on my part. Error checking picked up a couple items that needed to be clarified. I expect electronic submission of returns to proceed smoothly.

This was the most difficult year to use Turbo Tax I've experienced. There was one "error" that prohibited me from being able to file until I corrected it and it was a box that had a "0" in it. It made Turbo Tax think I had a credible value and needed to file an additional form "not supported by Turbo Tax". There should be better instructions to leave blank if a zero causes errors. Also, Turbo tax is not easy to navigate between sections and all the updates weren't available until after January 31st. Frustrating.

I wish you had offered a physical disk option like I have been using for years which allowed the current software to include the previous tax year's numbers for comparison. This 2025 tax year felt significantly more difficult for me to navigate for some reason.

Didn't ask for health insur premiums deducted from pension. Had to search for place to record State est tax advance payments on fed return. WHy on fed return and not just STate????? Software would not recognize 2024 return transferred and saved from ol PC to new.
