General review

It seems like this year's version is dumbed down from previous years. In the interview process, entering contributions, for example, if the same details needed to be entered for several entries, it would only be necessary to add them for one or two times. This year it is necessary to enter same details over and over again. That is just one example. The process just seemed more tedious than in past years. I would have much preferred to be able to use the product on Windows 10 computers.

Turbo Tax has changed

Each year there are more things that are not transferred from the previous year when uploaded. It makes using your software more difficult. I am seriously considering changing to another company even though I have been using this product for many many years.

The "Review" function is not so great.

The "Review" at the end of the federal return process is not well done. It takes you to a place that needs to be filled in but it does not always let you enter the information. Sometimes a field really is supposed to be blank but the program won't accept a blank. I had to go through the Review 2 or 3 times before it finally took what I gave it.

Buggy program with missing or unhelpful help files

Software is buggy. After many errors it finally froze when I was near the end of my return. I had to use AI to learn how to recover my work, because the application found no saved copy. The help files are missing or just not helpful. This product needs a thorough review for bugs and poor quality help files.

All good except Update process

Everything was fine except for the excruciating time it took to update TurboTax every time I went into it. Took like 40 minutes every time. Never had this problem in past years. Please fix next year or I may be forced to switch to another software.

Some issues this year

The overall yearly experience was about the same. However, when the final chance to pay allowed credit cards or using federal returns, the wording was NOT clear about these options. Choosing to pay the $25 state e-file for California (really $15 - thank you for the extra $10 bump, Costco) from my return triggers a $45 additional payment for "premium services." I spent far too long searching for this and eventually on multiple phone calls to clear this up. I would prefer more transparency: "If you pay with your card, it's just the $15 fee... but if you choose this other option, it will cost you $60 to pay the $15 fee." Additionally, many questions used in the product are confusingly worded. You have to click the help option to bring them up and once you look, it's so simple and I don't understand why the question is worded in this way. For example: 1098-T question: Did (person) take college classes? The answer to that was yes, but the bubble indicated that it was for students who were in high school, so we needed to answer no. For a tax product, that clarity and precision of language is REALLY important. You could make this product better. Please do.

Access different Turbo Tax files 101

Reference below comments.I needed advice how to access 2024 turbo tax document and the new turbo tax document I was completing. Apparently, I have two sign ins for these products. There needs to be a more friendly way to save each years' dcouments and a way to access them. Show prompts on how to do this for the confused user. I have used Turbo Tax software for many years. During tax time I need a prompt to guide me on how to store and access each years' Tax Return. Show overview and prompts.

Problems solved but frustrating

After not using TurboTax for one month and doing a preliminary tax return I was unable to open the TurboTax app. I had to call for assistance which took well over an hour to remedy. We were however able to get it to work finally. As I remember I had a similar issue on a different computer a few years ago. Frustrating, hoping it doesn't fail again since I do have a few other tax returns to complete

Not user-friendly

Life expert is very patient ! But our tax return is very simple and straight forward, don't need expert's help in the past. This year the new software made some new changes which made the easy filing more time consuming and not user friendly at all especially for senior people !

You are loosing me

Needs work

I have used Turbo Tax for many years now. However, this year has been a disappointment. problems with forgetting the IP PIN. now it looks like I have to mail in paper documents. Download from my financial group did not work, requiring a call to your help desk. ( they were helpful) Overall things did not flow well.
