I found working with turbotax more difficult this year. Downloading and entering my product code was not straight forward. Turbotax wanted to sell me another version which I had already purchased elsewhere. The forms for my state seemed missing pages or incomplete.

Smooth and straight forward filing process. Couldn't be easier for someone going through the process as a novice. Felt like I could go through each deduction, use what applied to me and pass what did not. I believe I received every penny I was qualified for.

I was going to use the on-line version. However, it did not transfer all the data from my previous years returns. I would have to enter all the info from my various accounts, i.e. addresses, TINs, acc #s, etc. So, it was easier to switch back to the desktop version. If you are going to offer an on-line version there should be an option to transfer from previous desktop versions, ran into two problems with the the desktop version. First, after importing my data from Schwab, there was no way to return to my return from the import success screen. I finally had to enter the data manually. Second, at the end of the income section I was asked if I had any digital currency transactions. I replied Yes and hit continue, but the program then just went into the Deductions portion. No way to enter my transaction. It took a lot of digging to find how to enter the Form 1099-DA info as it was well hidden in the Wages and Income drop down.

I had two issues with Turbo Tax. 1. When editing retirement income, the boxes to select editing or deleting are hidden in the row. One must know that those boxes exist and hover the mouse over the "hidden" boxes and hopefully select the correct box (edit or delete). 2. In entering gambling income, the forms indicate that if the state information is blank (e.g. Washington), don't enter a state identifier. However smart check insists that this is an error.

You are very comprehensive with questions, etc. I have used TurboTax for many years and this is the first year I have had problems. I can't afford the state electronic fee - state employee and no raise due to no budget. In all the years past, you have given me a printout that provides instructions on how to file, etc. This year I selected to file the state return by mail, and your program put me in a loop! I will have to guess how to file by mail (what to include, etc.). Very disappointed.

Probably have used Turbo Tax for 10+ years and getting pretty comfortable with it. The only issue I find is difficulty finding the location for unusual items, such as calculating estimated tax payments for the following year or specific questions like energy credits. Part of the issue is that I don't use the interview process due to my familiarity with income taxes and the Turbo Tax process. Maybe a link to IRS forms and IRS instructions would help.

I have used TurboTax for 20 years because it's simple and accurate. But this year, it caused problems that almost cost me a lot of money. When it was downloading interest and dividend statements from banks, etc. it did not recognize when a certain institution was complete, and it wanted me to update it. That caused it to download the same interest and dividend statements multiple times. It tried to add them to my income multiple times, also. That could have cost me a lot of money if I had not noticed it. As usual, it was pretty simple to use. That's still great. And, I assume it is accurate becase I've never been audited (knock on wod). So I'll continue to use Turbotax, but now it eems I ned to be mr vigilant in watching over what it does.

Absolutely garbage. I tried to edit my data by deleting a1099R input. It showed it deleted but when I went back to re enter, it was still there. After 3X I gave up. Wasted the $50 I spent and had to go online (different version) to redo my taxes ($78 purchase) NEVER use them again. Shame because this is the 5 th year I used Turbo Tax so it was easy to pull up my personal data. Don’t waste your time with this crap.

I have been using TurboTax for many years and switched to the Mac version in 2020. So, far, it works great and I convinced a friend to start using TurboTax for his Mac after his accountant changed him some ridiculous fee to do his simple taxes where he only qualified for the standard deduction. The only concerning issue with TurboTax is they keep copies of some of your tax data in their cloud.

YOU MISSED SOMETHING ON THE NEW YORK STATE RETURN. MY RETURN WAS SUBMITTED, THEN REJECTED. HOW DID YOU MISS THIS? WHY DIDN'T YOU NOTIFY ME BY EMAIL? I HAD TO FIND OUT ABOUT IT READING THE NEWS PAPER. I MIGHT AS WELL START GOING TO A TAX PROFESSIONAL IN MY CITY.
