A user have to split one Form 1099 into multiple 1099s to work around the App's deficiency which have been long standing issues. e.g. 1099-B: IF there is any adjustment (e.g. Wash Sale), those entries would be entered by the software on line 1b/8b, instead of line 1a/8a -- even if the user agree with the reporting institution. Why? Form 1116 Foreign Tax Credit only allows one foreign country per 1099. It is not unusual for an account to have foreign dividends from multiple foreign countries. Again, the work around is to split the 1099-B into multiples. Why? Turbotax should provide more documentation on the composition of more difficult Totals. e.g. Form 1116 Foreign Tax Credit, Line 3e (Gross Income From all sources) -- the source should list each number (and source) making up the total income from all sources.

I have been using TurboTax for many, many years. This year's version (Desktop version Deluxe) was a big hassle for two reasons: 1) It requires Windows 11 (we mostly have computers that still run Windows 10, but have one newer computer that we were able to run TurboTax on) 2) The financial data import for Merrill Lynch did not work. It seemed like TurboTax would not/could not connect with Merrill Lynch (error 590 all the time). This had been one of the big time savers with TurboTax for us. Because of these hassles, I may stop using TurboTax in the future.

I was still using Windows 10, and did not know TurboTax would not work with my operating system. I had to use my laptop as a workaround, and consequently a this required extra steps after we had already downloaded it to our desktop. Due to a service provider's lack of diligence, my first pass found 85+- errors due to missing fields in 1099-R's. Having to complete each form was tedious and disappointing. I realize this is not a TurboTax issue.

Should have believed the 1 star reviews. We spent hours with this Turbo Tax only to find at the end we needed another $64 dollars to finish the state form. To continue to file state and federal together $64, or delete state and file federal. No way to print state form. SAMS SHOULD BE ASHAMED!!!

TurboTax 2025 is just awful. It is essentially the same interface from the past 10 years, but with updates to SOME of the requirements. But Intuit no longer puts effort into keeping TT up to date. It does not address important tax issues. The help is non-existent - unless you pay more. They try to nickel and dime you on every decision. This is absolutely my last year with TurboTax. It has been degrading for the past 3-5 years, but this is the WORST.

Everything was fine, not sure where it showed up but it was asking me for Canadian income and I never said I had any. and another was the interest on an account. I never received a 1099-int form but wanted me to continue filling one out. After a few attempts, I was able to bypass both issues. I'm only mentioning this because i never seem to have ran into this before. Update: I really had quite a time with some things, a lot of little quirks. Someone really needs to check the software again. I went to do my state and it told me I was done. I couldn't get into the state until i came out of the program and then back in again.

Please! Fix the TXF import for crypto investments! 2 different ledger tools a combined $200 expense and I have to make over 400 corrections when it finally imports. Also if you're going to allow online filing have bulk updates why not desktop!? Or a compatibility between moving to online for the investment filing then a transfer back to the desktop app? This has been a nightmare - a first for TurboTax but a bitter taste.

I like using turbotax. Unfortunately, this year you offered the options for direct deposit and mail for the refund. IRS is only doing direct deposit for 2025 and I have had to do a lot of extra work to get it changed to direct deposit. Please change that for next year.

This year, Turbo Tax was very disappointing. Purchased the disk in early January, but software about critical areas (ie. withdrawels from IRA) was not available until late January. Then, after putting all my information in, came time to e-file and surprise charges ie $40 for a "refund", really upset me. rather than surprises, tt should give upfront fees on the folder so as to inform users BEFORE they make the software purchase.

Unfortunately, the program is more complicated this year. I have a Form 1099G that only has a couple of sections that do not have the typical line indicators on it (from Illinois). You can't enter what isn't listed on the form. Likewise, your system is failing to acknowledge that on my Form 1095-A, Column's B & C had zero amounts listed. My mother claimed me as a dependent, but could not list this form for this very same reason, so I have tried to push it onto my returns. It keeps taking me back, cyclically, to the same zero entries and will not let me get past it!! I don't even know if my returns have been e-filed because of this! What is wrong with your program? Now I understand that she will need to do an amended return in order to claim the money. She tried, but could not get past this error in the program.
