Unlike the past 20 years I have used Turbo Tax I cannot recommend it this year. There was no side by side year comparison. Information from last year tax return was not used to generate appropriate forms for this year. I had to figure it out for myself. Prompts for this year were not nearly as helpful. Unless I read of improvements before I select software for next year will be looking at other products.

THis year, getting the program was different--instead of downloading the program onto my computer with the ability to transfer last year's information, I was talked into using the online version and wasted time typing in info that was usually transferred from previous returns.

Very easy to use. Been using for several years and it's just an easy-to-use app. Importing info from last year makes it easier to start. Recommendation: Add a button on the expenses front page (where you choose guided or I'll choose) to allow the user to skip this section. For our taxes, we have far too few deductions to consider itemizing and having a simple button to bypass that section would be helpful. (I don't recommend that feature for income since if someone is filling out the info needed, they'd very likely, almost certainly, have income to enter.)

Been using Turbo Tax for years. Plug in the numbers, and the software does the calculations by asking relevant questions. Saves money and never had a problem. Although start up can be a little slow, it always checks for updates so can have the latest updates. Can stop and go back to later.

I was very happy with the initial software and the ease with inputting my information. I work in Philadelphia and my Philadelphia Local Tax Amount is very high. The software kept prompting me to fix my error but my numbers were correct. My NJ State filing was the same. I was not prompted to input my income and almost had to pay NJ state taxes after paying Philadelphia tax (double taxation). Even though i paid the Philadelphia Tax and entered the amount in the appropriate field.

I love the desktop version, I've used it for over 25 years, and rarely have a problem. This year, I tried the online version with the same information I eventually used in the desktop version, but it wouldn't transmit my return; I kept getting an error: Our records indicate that you are not entitled to e-file one or more formsets.

Been using TurboTax for years. Great as usual. Had two glitches during use where it somehow skipped a subject. Caught the jump itself and directed me back to the correct page to review that subject. In the end everything was covered an it all looks correct.

All topics were excellent and as well as the Turbo Tax Live Experts Support, i.e. Mr. Alton, Ms. Candice and Ms. Tricia. Albeit, the Inherited Pensions is not taxable both Federal and some States and reported on 1099-R, your program should have some options for Other pensions so we may report the nontaxable pensions and to be populated on Schedule 1 Line z to shows negative amount to reduce the total taxable income. Or in other words Adjustments to Income. Like for example: Nontaxable Medicaid Waiver payments, to have a better accounting reports or easy to reconcile or audits the cited Returns.

I HAVE USED TURBOTAX FOR MANY YEARS, AND I THINK THIS 2025 VERSION IS THE MOST DISAPPOINTING VERSION. TWO OBVIOUS BUGS ARE DISTURBING. FIRST, I PARTLY FINISHED AND SAVED THE PROGRESS IN MY C-DRIVE, AND WHEN I RE-OPENED THE SOFTWARE, IT COULDN'T LOAD IT AND I HAVE TO DIRECT THE SOFTWARE WHERE TO FIND IT. SECOND, WHEN I TRIED TO ENTER THE 1099-DIV MANUALLY, I SELECTED SKIP IMPORT, THE SOFTWARE SHOWED ME 1099-B FORM. IT WAS VERY FRUSTRATING!

Normally a great program this years version is clunky, it ask if you have a 1099G but doesn't give you a way to enter the dollar amount, the button isn't there just the line telling you what the button would do should it exist. It felt like AI was used, some of the wording was confusing (I'm have a English degree).
