Turbotax does most of what we need it to, but it then crosses many lines and tries to sell many add-ons and upgrades that aren't needed. It provides structure and guidance already, it provides the features we need out of the box and it does all calculations we need it to do. However, these add-ons are rather aggressively marketed in the software nonetheless. Then, something that should be included, like state e-filing, is a rather expensive add-on because of Turbotax and not our state charging for this... Not cool.

I'm very fond of TurboTax it works so well I've used it for several years and I really have no complaints I do not like the online version at all and I prefer to use the version that's downloaded to my computer every year it works well for me it always has and I do not want to change to the online version I wish you wouldn't keep trying to get me to do that every time I sign in

Overall, Turbotax is an outstanding product. I always have Turbotax guide me through every question so that I don't miss anything. When finished, I am confident that my return is complete and accurate. My only complaint is this: I must take an RMD from my IRA. During the year, I use QCD's to support my charities. Turbotax does not specifically ask about QCD's. To enter QCD's you need to check a box among many other boxes and the description that follows that box does not use the word "QCD". I had to use Help to find out where to key in my QCD's.

There were some glitches in installing the Desktop version but the TurboTax support team gave me effective help. The program is overly persistent in trying to sell live-human assistance but the application is so well structured that I did not need any help. The downloads of 1099 forms from banks and brokerage firms were very smooth.

The interaction between forms was very awkward this year. Much worse than previous over 30 years I have used TurboTax. I spent several hours unnecessary hours on this. Why don't you prefill all forms when same field occurs elsewhere? Would save much time. I had mistyped one number and had to go through three forms before I found the error. This error also prevented Personal Rep on 1040 from filling and check box on another form from being checked.

30+ year user. Product is still somewhat helpful, but woefully lacking in terms of completeness, accuracy consistency. So many features are not ready for use, My returns have been rejected on multiple occasions because TT wasn't ready. The ability to use TT early version before the end of a calendar year to forecast taxes and make decisions on IRA withdrawls or not is absolutely useless. Also, while carryover data from previous returns is a timesaver, it seems like every year I have to go back to a previous return and gather some piece of info that never got transferred.

First problems ever since 2016 when I started using TT. Trouble uploading 1099's from Merrill Lynch. TT deluxe desktop for Macthen entered DOUBLE all our income, and had problems with guiding me as to how toemter my "hobbyist musician earnings of $485, less than th e$600 would have gotten me a 1099-NEC. I still had to have an Employer EIN< so I used hte one form 2024 (same employer, bt last year there was a 1099-NEC. Additionally, there was a handful of other troubling glitches,soI paid the $50 to get help, and was told that to itemize my music expense (much greater than $485), I needed to buy a more expensive TT version for an additional $40. It turns out that I could go to the Forms tab, and use Schedule C to enter my expenses against my "profit"of $485. Anyway, a very bumpy process for a very simple financial situation!!

This product is used because it is the most widely known. It works, but every year there are confusing features and disconnects between information on forms and what is available in the drop-down menus in the software. The options still dont include a "take the standard deduction" button...which is frustrating for veteran tax-filers who don't want to go through 30 menus on information they aren't going to fill out.

The text is very small and hard to read. There is no way to enlarge it. Had to take a pcture on my phone or use a magnifying glass. Very frustrating. Also I had great trouble with filliong out my 1099-R info for my teacher pension. Kept getting asked to do a Simplified line 3 -- It assumed I was entering a purchased annuity. I spent a lot of time trying to figure it out because TruboTax wouldn't let me file even though it didn't pertsin to my 100-R pension. I had to delete the form and started all over again before I could file electronically. SO FRUSTRATING!!!!!!

Very poor handling of Canadian retirement accounts. No way to enter foreign tax paid except as 1099-div and that was difficult to find. Not impressed with Win11 requirement. Import from RBC does not work. No entry from Scotia McLeod. Direct entry of Canadian NR4 would be asking too much?
