TT update applied (3/27/26). Opened TT file 1. Ran same Error check. Error found in original TT FIle 1 (WAS NOT FOUND THE DAY BEFORE). Corrected error, Reran error check. No error found. Saved TT file 1. Closed TT. I expected to find same error in TT File 2. Opened TT. Opened TT file 2. Ran same error check. TT DID NOT FIND ERROR. Verified same condition that caused error with TT fIle 1 to be present in TT FIle 2. Very straight forward sequence of events. 1: TT missed elementary error Day 1 and found elementary error Day 2 after update. I didn't expect Intuit to be finding and correcting elementary errors which should have been caught in testing prior to release. 2: TT caught elementary error in TT FIle 1 but not in duplicate TT File 2. I expected TT error checking to be consistent between original and duplicate files. Confidence in TT / Intuit now LOW. Went though and reviewed all other data / calculations myself before submitting. Elementary error was Payer's TIN missing from one of my income Interest entries.

1. I was frustrated to find that TurboTax 2025 Desktop requires Windows 11. 2. In determining Estimated Tax payments for 2026, I couldn't believe that TurboTax had moved away from the previous screens that showed 2025 amounts next to the fields to enter 2026 amounts. My first run-through I totally overlooked the "Other income" box hiding in the middle of a bunch of things that didn't apply to me, so TTax told me I would owe no California tax in 2026 (actual case about $2000 as non-resident). Seeing the corresponding 2025 amount would have clued me in right away. 3. When entering 1099s, etc., please don't waste a screen trying to have me import my data. Just put the Import as an option on the page with the fields to fill in. It's annoying to have to skip the import for each 1099. 4. Also, I'm hearing that you might be considering discontinuing the Desktop version. If you do, I will be heading to an alternative that continues Desktop support. I do NOT want my financial data sitting in the cloud.

I found the start up process very unintuitive after entering activation code. The start up screen took me several cycles to finally click on the right thing to starting using the software. Was this to try and upsell other products? The import function did not find my 2024 turbo tax return nor did it provide a way to search my computer for it. I ended up opening my 2024 return which 2025 turbo tax converted and seemed to get the previous years info. However, after entering dividend income I discovered that despite filing Married Filing Jointly, the software did not allow my wife and myself to enter separate income. I checked Personal Info and Turbo Tax advised using Married Filing Jointly (which I already was). After selecting Married Filing Jointly, I had to reenter all personal data and subsequently all income payees that Turbo Tax showed me when I first started using the software. I have never had a problem importing a previous years in all the years I have been using Turbo Tax.

Your search function sucked. It was difficult to access and wasted a lot of time. My State return could not possibly be correct- there's no way I paid $12,000m in State taxes. I filed for an extension instead.. Turbo Tax failed me this year-I won't be using it again

TurboTax doesn't generate Schedule D where I can see all my stock transactions and capital gains/looses for the year. Very disappointed!!! Similarly, even though you have all the information with you, you didn't enter the date of acquisition and cost basis for Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). That resulted in you using zero as cost basis, resulting in huge tax, which was shocking. I had to do some research and go and manually enter data for all the lots that I sold. I will consider this as a software bug.

Turbotax has great accuracy and features. It has wonderful guidance for people who are not familiar with preparing their own tax return. The "Forms" section can be extremely helpful. Many tax documents such as W-2's and 1099's can be imported directly into Turbotax. I have told many people to just go through all of the questions and answer them. Several of my friends are now preparing their own taxes with Turbotax. I've used other tax software but none are as accurate and easy to follow to complete and efile a tax return.

Had to use online AI help throughout the "guided" process making the money spent seem fruitless. I won't use TurboTax again. Additionally, the repeated attempts to spend another $60 for "help" is insult to injury. Not the TurboTax of years past and definitely not worth the money spent.

Overall I find Turbo Tax helpful. The upselling to the next level product or the online version gets a little old. My taxes are not complicated. I understand these options are available, but I don't need to be reminded more than once and then explain why I didn't opt for it. Also, this the second year that I got the "Failed Validation" error, saying I had to go to the Online menu and select Check for Updates. But I never know how to get to the Online menu and find Check for Updates, so I go out to the Turbo Tax community for help. It takes me a bit to understand that all I have to do is completely close out of Turbo Tax and get back in to trigger the update. Maybe THAT should be the provided guidance to avoid confusion and a waste of time. Or better yet, maybe fix that "bug" in your software so the error doesn't happen in the first place.

Turbo Tax Deluxe was easy to follow the instructions. It is easy to save and was able to come back where I left off when I was not finished with adding all the information. I did have an issue with Turbo Tax calculating the state sales tax and showing the amount on the summary form even though I chose to use the state taxes paid. I noticed a large number of users had this same issue.

I went through the whole process in a day and a half, without much trouble. I've been doing taxes for 50 years, mostly with TurboTax. However, today you tell me now that my federal filing was rejected because the AGI wasn't correct. It sure was! I can show you several other AGI entries on the Federal forms from last year. EVERY ONE IS THE SAME AS WHAT I HAVE LISTED FOR THE AGI. THE NUMBERS ALL MATCH! YOU NEED TO FIX THIS.
