Generally good with two issues

My experience was generally good but two items could be improved. First, this year I was not able to download my brokerage statements directly and had to enter amounts manually. This is the first time in several years that this was a problem. I tried multiple times on multiple days. Second I have several accounts with the same brokerage. There should be a way to identify the last 4 numbers of the account number so these can be identified and prompted correctly from year to year. The program prompts on interest from Brokerage, for example, but that is not helpful if there are several accounts with interest and it is impossible to know what account it is prompting for.

Printing issues

I had an issue trying to print the State return for Ohio (message: "currently unavailable to view, print, or download"). It was not clear which forms were missing. After to experimenting, I found that it turned out to be due to R.I.T.A. forms. It took me several hours to find this. As soon as the "R.I.T.A. Form 37" form was added the above error message appeared. After removing the R.I.T.A. form, the error message disappeared. There are numerous reports of this issue spanning several years. The error message should be clearer / more precise about the issue. Also unchecking the R.I.T.A. option in "Step-by-Step" does not work - it has to be handled in the "Forms" mode. This exacerbated the issue described above.

TurboTax is still great, BUT.

Fed return was accepted right away. NY state return was blocked until I went to Internet and Googled my problem. They (AI) pointed out that on 1099R, box #1 info had to be manually entered in box #16 or else TurboTax would reject it. This did NOT happen when I did my 2024 returns with very similar 1099Rs included.

easy to use and accurate

the software has always worked fine for me over the years with the exception that on my Mac it can not find my previous years return the last 3 years and I have to manually enter the information. could not say if it is the software or Mac. I avoid cloud storage as much as possible so that could be a thing. I have no intentions of using the online services to file in the future either. If desktop becomes unavailable I will file another way.

BAD experience!!

I asked to have my refund sent to me via mail. Now I can't because you shouldn't have had that as an option. Tell me what the process is to get it deposited directly into my account. You should have to fix the problem. I've used Turbo Tax for many years and unless you fix this I won't be using it anymore.

Nearly 30 years of continuous use !

In our first small business (nearly 30 years ago) we used an accountant who charged us $2,000 to file taxes. For grins, I purchased Turbotax for $80 to see how 'close' I could get. I matched it to the penny. Needless to say, that was the last time we used an accountant :)

Horrible Login Cannot Use Product

Why you force customer to make intuit account? You also do not let customer reset password, forcing customer to make a new account with a new email. The customer already paid for your product, just let them file the taxes! No one wants an intuit account

Redundant Entry once topic is completed

As always you need to default to what the person has entered when they go back to access a completed topic. You should not have to select none, etc if you already have done it. Makes no sense. Seems to me to increase the chance of a mistake because someone will rush thru entering the answers to the questions to be to a numeric entry, etc.

Turbo Tax has improved tremendously...

The accuracy was perfect, all imported data was exactly what was shown. This version of TurboTax is the best yet in terms of ease of use. The process to download the software to my machine was a little confusing. Step by step instructions would be useful for those who do not download software frequently. The guidance through each section of the process is excellent and facilitates minimizing taxes due. The only reason I did not give five stars was because there were numerous times the software was "Not Responding" taking several minutes to come back.

Never got financial import working

I've been using TT for many years with the desktop version on various versions of Windows and this the first time that I can remember, that the importing of data from various financial institutions would not work. In researching this, Intuit had no answer just "manually enter data" which is a real pain with financial records. What ever Intuit did to break this, needs to get fixed for next year.
