Misleading "Features"

I have been using your software for more than 30 years. The upselling features that have been added in the last several years I find annoying. Also when paying for the state from the Federal refund I was FORCED to pay the $45 Audit Defense which I did not need. It was not clear in the software screens how to avoid ths. I find this to be predatory.

TurboTax is OK.

It's better than some other tax softwares, but not much. TT claims to make things easier, but they are almost as confusing as the actual tax docs from the IRS. And if you click the wrong thing, well you get to start all over again. At least that was mine and a coworkers experience with TT customer service team. It's better than some others but not much. They all claim to make things easier, but they are almost as confusing as the actual tax docs from the IRS.

Disappointed

I have been using TurboTax for many years was very disappointed this year. Two major difficulties 1) Regarding our wealth management acounts the import failed to load any of the 1099-XXX information. This led to a bunch of problems that consumed a lot of time to correct. 2) I hit a need to review certain things before it would allow me to file, which is ok, accuracy is important. However, if I moved from correcting one box to the forms to check something I was force to cycle through the full review cycle - this is an abysmal waste of time. I will consider a different product next year.

Which is it...Desktop or Online

This is my 4th year using TurboTax so you'd think I'd be familiar with the program. This year was no different in that I needed to Contact Customer to walk me thru the process to ensure I was on the Desktop version, and not the Online Version; also needed Customer Service to locate and activate the pre-paid program fee. Once in, the program efficiently walked me thru the process. The program asks good questions directing me to required info to enter. When completing the tax return, you need to understand that you are required to pay for the program before you are able preview or print your return.

Frustrating entering interest, dividends, etc.

I do NOT like this version of 2025. Entering Interest, Dividends, etc is very difficult and cumbersome now. If your banks, companies, etc are not available to import the information it takes numerous steps to enter it manually. And I had go through those steps numerous times ONCE I figured out how to even get to the manual entry. It was frustrating.

Frustrated

We have struggled with getting proper selection between on-line and downloading to desktop. I initially thought that we had purchased desktop version. Don't know what happened but got to end of federal form and it did not save and everything was lost and we had to start completely over from the beginning. Very frustrating.

Useful but needs and update

The Turbo Tax software is easy to use and for the most part is extremely user friendly. My only concern is that the software doesn't ask for the IP PIN and when I type the question into the Turbo Tax Help option the program didn't recognize IP PIN and kept asking if I needed to update my personal information.

Turbo taxed me

Turbo Tax should improve!

Did not engage with the experts. The product should ask for the date of a ROTH conversion. No underpayment penalty might occur if done in the fourth quarter. Could not actually let PA determine under payment penalty even though this was identified as an option. Did not have compatibility issues.

Buggy

TurboTax 2025 Deluxe seems to have several bugs. It is impossible to uncheck some things, without starting all over. I had to do my taxes from the beginning, after getting through to the payment section, because I changed my mind. It erased everything, even though I had saved it. Federal portion printed alright, but the IL state portion was gibberish when I tried to print the 2026 estimate vouchers or the tax forms. Turns out, after MUCH trial and error, I had to install Adobe Reader DC. Been using TurboTax for like 25 years, and this was the first time I couldn't print the forms!! I'm pretty disappointed in this years product.

Don't do online "upgrade"

Purchased the desktop version but tried the "upgrade" online offer. BIG MISTAKE! After 2 hours online, I was still not ready to file, so I decided to quit and go back to the desktop version. So many issues online, from importing last year's info to updating the forms and importing for financial institutions. Stop changing what works and focus on getting it right the first time.
