The features are fine; they make it easy to file taxes. There was a glitch in the program. The program told me that the transmission did not go through, but when I checked, it had gone through and I got a confirmation. You need to work on this glitch.

In many cases, I found it easier to understand tax guidance from AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude than from the software itself. For a product meant to make taxes more accessible, the clarity of the questions needs significant improvement. I had to re-enter my entire tax return after the software accidentally overwrote my file with my son's return. This was extremely frustrating and created unnecessary risk and wasted time. On top of that, it feels like a poor user experience to be charged an additional $25 just to e-file a state return after already spending significant time preparing everything. Overall, the software is not as reliable or user-friendly as expected for something this important.

There were a few issues with 2025 Turbo Tax. Opening a new section resulted in several error messages BEFORE I had entered any information. TT kept insisting that my pension is Canadian, but it is not. State return didn't populate until I exited the program and restarted.

The program was reasonably intuitive; however, they repeatedly try to trick you into purchasing extra services by highlighting a button that looks like the "continue" button but isn't. Also, I'm pretty sure there is a bug in Schedule C where the limitation on the home office is taken from Sch C Line 28 and it should come from Line 29. That cost me $150 because it used the wrong limitation.

I have been a long-time user of intuit products and have prepared my taxes using TurboTax since the late 1980's. In years past, I have found the software to be very straightforward. However, the 2025 TurboTax Deluxe Desktop version has made an onerous annual chore far less manageable. The 2025 rendering is comparable to a beta version with plenty of bugs yet to resolve.

Your prompting on how to handle 1099-R for RMDs was extremely confusing in the case where one has multiple 1099-R per owner, and the owner took the total RMD out of one of the accounts. It was not clear how to add a 1099-B to an account which already had a 1099-DIV and/or 1099-INT. Eventually I added another account with the _identical_ name, and that worked. You need to give some guidance as to whether-or-not it's going to be worthwhile going through a section if the user is going to end up with the standard deduction.

I've been using TurboTax for years and have been happy with it, with only occasional minor hiccups. But this year, there were multiple issues. Forms that were not available when I wanted to file my taxes, and the annoyance of not being able to go back into my medical expenses to update them, for example. I was also shocked that they tried to charge me another $40 for deducting the state filing charges from my federal refund. This year, I had to learn to go look at each of the forms because I could not trust what TurboTax was doing. I am not sure that will be using TurboTax again in the future.

The following day I called customer service and received the support that I needed to complete my taxes. I have been using turbo tax for the past 7 years and will continue to use it in the future . Need to add back some of the detail screen for example for charitable contributions. Was not asked about basis for my IRAs. Not as user friendly as in previous years. Placing interest, dividends and investments all on same screen not helpful and a pain when returning to investment.

I have used Turbo Tax since the 90's, So it has been good for me to use to do my own taxes, The only issue that I had was they need to show the 60 day rollover of IRA Distribution by check and deposited into another IRA managed by a different fund manager in both state and federal narration. Other than that it was very easy to use and calculations and reviews were accurate. Definitely recommend.
