FORM 1099 Q IS NOT A FRIENDLY AREA TO WORK WITH. THERE ARE ISSUES WITH LETTING THE TAX SOFTWARE . I COULD NOT FIND A WAY TO RECORD YEARLY COLLEGE EXPENCES SO THEY COULD BE DEDUCTED FROM THE MONEY REPORTED ON THE 1099 Q FORM. IN ORDER TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM OF PAYING TAXES ON WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAX FREE INCOME, I HAD TO COMPLETLY REMOVE THE INFORMATION CONCERNING THE 1099Q FORM. YOU NEED TO CLEAR THIS ISSUE UP. IT WAS VERY FRUSTRATING.

For the most part, everything was straightforward. The only problem I encountered was when I went to transmit, TurboTax kept telling me that there was a problem from my 1099R entry. The only way I could get past the error was to enter the "Gross distribution" amount (line 1, form 1099R) for the "State Distribution" amount (line 16 form 1099R). I've never had that problem in the past, and I have used TurboTax for 10+ years.

I've used TurboTax for many years. The 2025 version seemed to have more issues than previous versions. I had to use AI extensively to answer questions. I also had to use help and community to answer questions. I feel like this version was not well tested/vetted.

I bought the deluxe download version and believed that one state return was included - as advertised. I was surprised that I had to pay an additional $25 to E-file the state return. Also, I wanted to revisit my 2024 version of Turo tax (on my Win 10 Machine) but I was stopped at the software update function. I could not skip it and when I said ok to the update I received errors. This did NOT occurs with other past versions of the software! The software worked, therefore a 4 rating.

Forms list is inconsistent in naming of files. Worksheets ask questions in a different order than the order on the form. Questions fail to include the line number to which the data is used. When looking for a source of information on a Line, there may be multiple forms as possible sources. Sometime a Dollar amount is listed. This is helpful. Otherwise, please indicate which form(s) are the source of the information.

Every year Turbo Tax changes the way they ask questions re K-1. I make a note from the previous year on how to enter and the next year the question is differently worded so it's hard to figure out what is being asked. On State Tax return it kept locking up when I was trying to enter the different states. Not happy. May switch next year what tax app I use.

Online and desktop are out of sync. Desktop shows efile accepted but still asking for me to file? Online version wants me to enter all my bank information and pay again to file. Need to get the two programs in sync and ensure the desktop application has updated all sections with efile complete for both State and Federal.

Suggestions: !) 1099-INT When adding a new source of interest income, you're not providing blanks to enter the payer's TIN. You have to go to the form to enter it. 2) State Return Instead of heckling me to buy a state return, please include logic to bypass this when my filing address is in a state like Tennessee that has no state income tax. 3) 1099-R More guidance is needed on how to complete RMD questions when the 1099-R is for a pension as opposed to a 401k, 403b, etc. It's confusing to answer questions about whether the distribution was 100% RMD when, technically, it was a pension payment, not an RMD. Still, it appears the correct answer is to answer as if the pension payment was a 100% RMD payment.

Tax instructions were easy to understand and the program worked flawlessly. Have been using TurboTax for over 20 years and have never been disappointed. I have used TurboTax while self-employed as well as working for a employer and never had a problem. Keep up the good work!

Turbo Tax said my return was complete, but the rental property depreciation section was not update as promised by TurboTax on 02/01/2026 as promised. Turbo Tax did not flag my return as incomplete even though it did not update depreciation. Luckily, I reviewed my return and noticed the depreciation amount missing before I filed. Turbo Tax continued to LIE and indicate that the depreciation section would be updated BY 02/01/2026, which it was not. It wasn't updated by almost a month AFTER it was PROMISED by Turbo Tax.
